First time here. Wonderful experience. Food was decadent. I had the meatloaf and the dessert sampler. Will be back. Hidden gem. Don’t let the plain exterior fool you.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for years. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the attention to detail inside…from the service, the food, the decor, down to the bathroom sink… is so exciting. It definitely would be a romantic date spot but I thoroughly enjoyed it with my girlies tonight. I started with roasted Brussels sprout soup (today’s special.) I’m a soup fanatic so that was the best part of the meal for me… PACKED WITH FLAVOR! For my entree I did the Dijon crusted salmon with potatoes. I studied abroad in Germany & I still dream about those potatoes. Perfectly cooked & a generous portion (I took half home.) I paired this with a lovely dry Riesling from Germany. I had the apple aperitif then coffee with apple strudel w/a vanilla custard to dip it in. I ??? European whip cream… not sweet like here… just light, whipped goodness. My friend chose the trio of mini desserts & loved it. I will be back soon!

Unassuming from the street but as soon as you walk thru the door you feel like this place is special. Our daughter and her husband recommended it to us several years ago. We have been quite a few times. My wife’s aunt is German and such a good cook and Schwaben House makes us think of her. This is the best restaurant for German food in the Upstate. Wonderful atmosphere, tremendous service, and unbelievably good food. If you want to impress that special lady, this is the place to take her.

Incredibly German and undeniably delicious. The service was 5-star friendly and comfortable. The atmosphere was a bit odd because it doesn’t feel very German, but it was pleasant. Go try this place for sure.
Was laughed at for trying to go without a reservation

Never been here before. Good friend of mine recommended it so we went there with our spouses. The salmon and pork medallion was great. The draft German beer was great. Dessert is great. I got the dessert of trilogy (mini side of brulee, chocolate cake and cappuccino mouse). It was great. Atmosphere was great. Great small place for quiet conversations. Plus a good idea for a romantic date. For those who have kids, this is not a place for kids. So do yourself, and kids a favor and don't bring them. This is not McDonald. This is a very nice in my opinion high end restaurant. Highly recommended it. Best German restaurant I had in a very long time.
Schwaben House has been one of our favorites for many years. Always great food and service and the atmosphere is always so fun with seasonal decor.

The waitress was very unkind and unpleasant. The local and the staff are not kid-friendly at all. And the food is ok but very oily. It's a very expensive place for an acceptable experience.Kid-friendliness: Don't bring your children as the place is totally not kid friendly, and the waitress who served us did not show any empathy or attention towards them, even being rude when they were playing at the table.
