My daughter’s bridal “tea” shower was held here. Mary was most accommodating with our schedule over the Thanksgiving weekend. The table was set beautifully. The food was just right and the staff were friendly and attentive. We were very pleased with the service and our experience. We would highly recommend the afternoon tea for your special occasion. Also a great place for a casual breakfast/lunch anytime!

Spoonbread did an amazing job catering to my needs for a post-proposal brunch. They did a great job serving us to whatever needs and accommodations we needed and the staff was extremely friendly. I will be going back as a regular breakfast and lunch attendee after such a wonderful experience.

Definitely for the older more sedate crowd. Think Frank Sinatra piano bar. Service was great. Do not recommend the Reubens sandwich, …wheat toast?

I worked as a server at The Cliffs, The Hyatt, The Melting Pot, a $75/person steakhouse, and Applebee's. I've been known to frequently tip 40-50%, if not 100%. I've even tipped $500 on $50 once. My favorite servers have received $100 tips at Christmas or Thanksgiving just because....
But that stopped because good service has stopped. Forget good service... people doing their job in nearly every industry has stopped.
This week I ate breakfast at the same place 3 times. It was inside one of the nicest hotels in Greenville - Spoonbread in the Westin Poinsett.
On Monday - I asked for a refill of a drink where soda is $3 per bottle for an 8oz bottle. 30 minutes later I had not received the refill or the bill. I had to seek out my server to get her to do her job. Instead of apologizing for failing to do her job, the waitress added it to my bill and laughed when she saw my shocked face telling me to just take it with me. Why on Earth would I want a $3 miniature soda with no ice to go?
On Wednesday - It took 20 to 30 minutes just to get a water. No one ever came to take my order. Finally I got up and tracked down a server. I was told the only thing available was the $25 buffet. I go here bc i can get a large fruit plate for $6.50. I was told I could get unlimited fruit for $25.
On Thursday - I had the same server who could not get me a refill in half an hour on Monday. She recognized me and made a snide comment bc $3 on $20 apparently isn't sufficient. 15% when you do mot do your job is beyond sufficient. You can imagine the quality of service we received.
Don't tell me I don't understand. I've walked 10,000 miles in those shoes.
I know what laziness is in the service world. If I can't expect my server to do their job, why should a server expect a tip?

While staying at the Westin Poinset as a large group for work, we mustered here each morning for breakfast. We all have status with Bonvoy and got free breakfast here each morning, which was actually pretty good!
The service was helpful and friendly. They also have a decent breakfast buffet which had fresh and tasty items on it. I did order from the menu one morning and it was decent, but my omelette was slightly over-cooked (I don’t like brown on my eggs).
The venue is beautiful and a great place to start the day. It’s a great deal for free! But if I had to pay for breakfast, I’d

Really cool restaurant in the Poinsett. It is still themed like it was in the 1920's. Cool theme, great service, good food. All around great experience.

Went here for Saturday High Tea to celebrate my daughter’s birthday (and upcoming baby’s birth!) and the experience could not have been better. The wide selection of teas, combined with incredible baked goods - the scones were some of the best I’ve ever had! - and the great service made it an afternoon to remember.I’d strongly recommend their High Tea for anyone looking for a relaxing, elegant time.

We took a large group to The Spoonbread and we had many compliments from our group about what a delightful experience it was. Food, Service and atmosphere. We were welcomed by Mary at the entrance, seated at the prearranged time and were all very pleased. Thank you and see you next time!

I would give these place 3 stars but bumped it up to 4 stars because of the amazing service. All of the staff were very friendly and nice. I believe our waitress name was Aubrey and she did a fantastic job. The food wasn’t anything special but good. Overall not a spot I would recommend but it’s an option.

A group of eight ladies from our Sunday school decided to celebrate Christmas here with high tea. Mary who manages the dining room did a fabulous job of tailoring our wishes for tea, sandwiches, desserts, scones and other goodies. We had such a lovely time despite the nasty day outside. And they even had a nice giveaway prize for the hostess. You can tell they are proud of their work and want to host more tea parties in the future. It was a pleasant afternoon out!
Ms. Mary (Catering Manager) and her staff gave us the very best high tea experience. A wonderful array of exceptional finger sandwiches, desserts and teas. A must when you visit Greenville, SC. A definite do-over for us, year after year.
