My husband and I have had breakfast and lunch here. It is very good. I do wish there were more choices at times. The coffee is just ok. The quiche is very good. All the baked goods are great. I stop here a lot.

I've ate lunch here quite a bit but to be honest it's not my cup of tea. The bakery on the other hand is out of this world. I love the fact they have samples out for you to try. They have everything you can imagine from cookies to cakes. I have had my eye on their Italian cookies for awhile now, and one of these Christmas' I am going to get them. If they're anything like their Irish Whiskey Cake that I had on St Patrick's Day in 2004, then I will be In luck. Just be aware that as local and classic as Strossner's is, it comes with a pretty hefty price tag.

Beautiful bakery. However, extremely overpriced. The meals such as the Sheppards Pie, and Chicken and rice are really a rip off. They claim to feed 4-6 for $20. They feed more like 3 and they are very small and not so tasty. Also, a quiche is $20. Very high priced without the quality. I won't be choosing them for take home meals again. Disappointed

I gave one star but I would give less if possible. I will break my review into pieces. A) Food: The cakes are frequently dry. On more than one occasion the cake has tasted like it was possibly frozen, like one of those Pepperidge Farm cakes you get at the grocery store. On my most recent visit, the cake was not only dry but the icing was so pasty that it actually didn't stick to the cake...so it would fall off the cake piece when you picked it up. Think of school paste in terms of consistency but a little more firm. B) Customer Service: I recently dropped by and asked to purchase an empty cake box because I am competing in a father/son cake baking contest for Boy Scouts. I was denied a box by the manager. Apparently they're afraid to see someone else's cake in their box. Bad for branding. I tried to reason with them..9yo son, Boy Scouts, no one cares about a box, it's just so I can carry the cake, etc. Nope. No box. No matter the price I offered to pay. I went across town to The Bakery on Augusta and asked for a box. Not only did they GIVE me a box, they asked my son questions about the cake, gave him some candy to go on the cake to spruce it up, and legitimately seemed interested in our project. This review isn't about the Augusta Bakery but I can't say enough about how they treated us kindly but also about how good their cakes/treats are. Please consider supporting their business instead of falling for a fancy name like Strossner's. You won't be sorry. FWIW my son and I won our cake contest. I'm so glad I didn't disrespect our cake by putting it in a Strossner's box. Would have been bad branding for our cake.

2 sandwiches, 2 sides, 2 fountain drinks for ~$20. I got the reuben and my wife got the chicken salad croissant, both were a solid B. They also came with some weird cookie/biscuit things which none of us liked, a pickle and 1 cherry tomato (seriously we each got 1 along side our pickle). My son ate the fruit bowl which was fresh, but way too much honeydew. We were there early afternoon on a Saturday, so after the lunch rush and it was a relatively clean place other than none of the tables were wiped down. Overall it's a solid place if you just need to grab something to eat and all you want is a traditional type of sandwich that you know won't be bad.

Amazing Bakery! I literally went six hours out of my way just to stop here. They are pound cakes are amazing! So are their king cakes! I also bought a dozen lemon shortbread cookies, two lemon bars, a death by chocolate cupcake, and a strawberry cupcake! Well worth the price! Oh and their chicken pot pie for lunch is phenomenal!

I almost exclusively come here for the soup of the day, served with a homemade roll and two small cheese crisps. My favorite is probably beef and barley. I am so lucky to work down the road. They also have a wonderful tiny cake - almost like a large petit four - for making birthdays special, candle included, at a steal of a deal. This Nola girl is also grateful for king cakes during Mardi Gras season.

Friendly service but nothing to write home about unless you are from Greenville. Clean bakery, with overpriced but deliciously decorated (taste was so-so) goodies.

Have bought hams for thanksgiving for past 3 years. Loved the glaze on it and the tenderness. This years ham did not have glaze and was very dried and tough! We did not like it at all. So very disappointed. I did not have turkey as usual because everyone wanted your ham!! We came from Chapin to get it we liked it that much. Just would like to know what changed with hams this year. It would help to have instruction sheet included. The cupcakes were wonderful as usual!!!

Finally made it to Strossner's yesterday and so glad I did. It has been in Greenville area for 73 years according to one of the staff. A brightly lit space full of delicious looking items in many glass cases greet you as you walk through the doors. There are mock up cakes to demonstrate their employee's talents should you looking for a very special cake for a wedding reception or very special party. The desk is where you order your meal, sandwich, soup and/or salad and bakery items, also pay for everything. The dining area looked clean and well maintained. The specials change daily. There are ready made items to take home such as quiches and potpies, bread baked daily and an amazing variety of cupcakes, cookies, pies, cakes; many are beautifully decorated for the season. I enjoyed a well-made Reuben sandwich and purchased a number of sweet treats to share with family at home in Aiken, SC. I will admit, some items never made it home. I will definitely return to Strossner's on my next visit to Greenville, SC.

This is a nice sandwich shop and bakery! Staff is super friendly and nice. Food is outstanding! I had the meatloaf sandwich which was incredible. Locals flock here which is a great sign that the food is always worth coming back for. Great prices too!

This place was recommended by hotel across the street. I was surprised by the less than friendly service since the hotel front desk raved about the place. The food was good, but I don't think I will return since I felt very unwelcome.
