Have been a few times for dinner and hasn’t disappointed. Definitely a great spot for a date night, haven’t had a bad thing on the menu, and the green beans are 🔥. Great music as well

We went to Coffee Coffe which is the early morning Sum Bar offering. The coffee was fantastic and donuts are available. WiFi too

I went here way back near opening and have been raving about it to folks ever since. But then I went again recently and everything was… meh. Not so quick to recommend now.
The Green Beans are 🔥 so get those.
The Crab Rangoon is a dip which the menu doesn’t say and I don’t prefer.
The Fried Mushroom dish is soggy. Idk why restaurants try to do this with the wrong type of mushroom…
The restaurant is involved in various events and festivals which are cool. They had non-traditional Moon Cakes at one which was a fun treat but they also had Custard Buns that were comically awful. Like if I made them at home they’d of been trashed awful ha.

Beautiful place and the service was decent. Each of the dishes tasted wonderfully but the size was tiny, I get they are small plates but wow. The price to portion is insane and the meny was tiny. Highly recommend the green beans.

Food was good. Drinks were good. Something was missing, though. I felt like I'd had it all before. I would suggest a tofu and/or fish dish added to the menu. The shrimp lettuce wraps were a disappointment. The shrimp was temperature cold. Yuck

Thank you, Tyra, for making our experience at Sum Bar unforgettable!

From start to finish, everything was fantastic. The Crab Rangoon (dip style) was a fun and flavorful twist on a classic—definitely a highlight. The Orange Blossom cocktail paired perfectly with the sesame balls, a combo we didn’t know we needed!

Another standout was the Pom de Replay with Pork Belly Rice Ball—absolutely delicious and something I’ll be ordering again without question.

The vibe of the restaurant was spot on. The decor added a stylish, welcoming touch, and the music tied it all together, creating a really enjoyable atmosphere.

I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu!

If Sum Bar were a person, I’d write them a love letter and ask them to meet my parents.
This place is perfect. The team makes us feel like family every time we walk in. The food is thoughtful, flavorful and consistently amazing. Do yourself a favor and order at least two each of the green beans and crab rangoon dips. Will forever be coming back. I ❤️ you Sum Bar!

My friend Kate and I had reservations at 7pm for her birthday dinner, and they were running behind so we happily popped next door for a drink and came back to sum bar 15 mins or so later just to be ignored by everyone in the restaurant while waiting at the podium. At this point it was 7:35 which is 35 minutes after our initial reservation, while being looked at by every employee in the restaurant 10 -15 awkward minutes later we went to the bar to see if we could chat with anyone about our table resy and I was told the bartender was MUCH too busy to talk with us. (Our soon to be waitress told us this in a very annoyed tone) the sweet man who I believe was maybe a manger ended up finally seating us & giving us a glass of champagne for our inconvenience / the way we were treated. We never got an apology and were told this free drink was because he understands people get hangry easily when they eat late… the whole situation was beyond uncomfortable and disappointing. I work in the service industry downtown and truly just cannot believe the way we were ignored/side eyed/ shamed for asking a simple question to the bar tender as of what we should do for having a reservation and no one acknowledging us. The food was absolutely delicious but I am beyond disappointed with the way we were treated upon arrival. I will never come back or recommended this restaurant again.

Exceptional food and service. Best dim sum in Greenville.

Great sharable plates

The food selection was extremely limited….was forced to get our own menu and ask another server for assistance as we were passed by our intended server twice.

Tables are very close together and the bar next door has a band which drowned out ability to enjoy the meal.

When we were able to order, the food and hot tea were very good. Seems like it could be a good spot with some small pivots in how the front of the house is managed.

Outstanding spot with incredible food. I think our small group ordered everything on the menu, and there was noting we didn’t like. Great service, unique drinks that were also outstanding. The perfect dining experience in downtown Greenville. Get reservations early — it’s a very popular place — and we now know why after visiting.

Love this place. Always delicious. You feel like you are in another city. Sit at the bar and let the bartender guide your meal order.
