I knew the original family very well at one point in my life, so this rating is for them. This was a vegetarian staple in Greenville for many, many years. So delicious, you forgot there was no meat in the food…so delicious, you didn’t even miss it!!!! The family retired and we miss them.

If you love the idea of an authentic vegetarian Indian home kitchen-- delicious traditional Indian cuisine, served simply and unpretentiously, at very reasonable prices... well you should go to SWAD. I had not been since the original Indian owners sold the place, but was delighted to learn the sweet story of how they passed on all of their culinary secrets to the new owners-- who meticulously maintain all the original recipes and cultural ambience of the original. Feels more like being in India than in Greenville. It is a charming, welcoming place, clean and neat as a pin. Delicious and super reasonable.

I really enjoy the food here! When the original owners retired, I was worried Swad would be no more. But thankful new people came in and are keeping it alive and well! Just ate there the other day and it was delicious!

ALERT Under New Managment .....good reviews must be from the previous owners.I was so sad after my last visit to the restaurant.As soon you walk in you can feel, smell and see the difference from the previous Managment.Food looks very bad, presentation was awful and service was worst.So sorry but all about this restaurant need to be change.
