I really liked this place. Their caramelized Brussels sprouts are to die for. Atmosphere and view are great addition

Came for our two year anniversary and everyone made it a really special experience. Servers are knowledgeable about the food and provide excellent service and recommendations. Our server was Henry, and he was absolutely wonderful. The food, as always, is wonderful, and we tried a steak that was new to the menu and was very good (I can’t remember the name of it, unfortunately).

The food is very nice but the service is too poor, I went alone and they put me at the bar even haven tables. And the attendance almost never came to me!

My husband and I stopped in for drinks and small bites after a long walk on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. This place has been recommended to us by multiple people, so we were excited to check out their offerings! We were not disappointed. Since it was mid-day, I opted to start with a coffee, while my husband went for the red sangria; both were delicious. Geronimo was our server and he was an absolute delight. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and just generally made our fist visit enjoyable. We started off with the fried goat cheese and mezze plate, then we finished with the Duck Duck Goat. All of it was amazing, but I HIGHLY recommend the fried goat cheese as I don't think I've had anything like that before. They offer a very extensive wine/cocktail/beer list, and the prices are more than reasonable. I look forward to our next visit.

This is absolutely the greatest example of customer service above and beyond the call of duty that I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. The food was magnificent, yet the personalized care they showed us sets The Lazy Goat apart from any other restaurant we’ve ever been to.
We checked in a bit early for our reservations at the host stand and needed to wait at the bar for our table. Laurie prefers to avoid stairs due to her knees, and when we asked about an elevator to the lower floor, Ya El piped up that she would be happy to lead us to the nearby elevator and help us negotiate our way through the service entrance to get us to the bar.
Exemplary and gracious accommodation of our needs - First example.
Once at the bar, we discussed with Freyja, Connor, and a chef at the bar that Laurie has dietary restrictions that prevent her from eating things that might aggravate acid reflux. Honest to God, they all jumped in with ideas and ways to amend their menu choices so we could enjoy our meal. Including several trips back to the kitchen to ask for the Chef’s input, and custom fruity water drinks that made Laurie feel extra special, and enjoy our nice date night.
Exemplary and gracious accommodation of our needs - Second example.
When we were seated at our table with a beautiful view of the river, Cat took wonderful care of us through the evening, including already being appraised of Laurie’s dietary needs and the custom grilled chicken dish the Chef and Freyja had come up with.
I had the Zarzuela de Mariscos which was fantastic, and Laurie cleaned her plate of a masterful dish they literally made up on the spot.
Exemplary and gracious accommodation of our needs - Third example.

We spoke with the manager, Erica, and let her know just how fantastic her staff is, making our entire experience at their restaurant a thing of beauty.

If you haven’t eaten at The Lazy Goat, you need to.
We will be back!

Amazing experience - we enjoyed date night here while the kids stayed at our hotel next door. The octopus patatas was the STAR of the show. The cilantro micro greens just made that dish. amazing! We also liked the Brussels - pretty standard app, we got the beef/potatoes main dish which was good but again nothing new. Drinks were really good. The fried goat cheese was our dessert and liked it (but prefer the fried goat cheese at ECCO in atlanta - IFYKYK). Great patio vibe in the evening with the carillon music on the hour. Our server was a little absent but we weren't in a hurry. We did request patio on our reservation notes.

Very large portions, the apps we tried were okay, the brussel sprouts were the only one I would order again, goat cheese bites had a bit too much pistachio and vanilla for my preference, and the shrimp was more like a crab cake than a ceviche style that I had anticipated.

Both pastas were good, I really enjoyed the veggies with the prosciutto! I was most excited to try the goat cheesecake for dessert but by the time our server came back to ask if we wanted dessert it was already sold out (there was a lot of time between when we finished eating and he made his was back to us).

Service was okay here, nothing terrible but I wouldn’t say it was the best. More lack of checking in/attention that I’ve received elsewhere.

I would go back again but I don’t know if I would tell someone they have to try it out here.

My youngest brother and his fiance had planned to be married at Pretty Place Chapel with the reception at Table Rock State Park on Monday 9/29/2024. Hurricane Helene had other plans. We live north of Atlanta, GA and decided to head to Greenville to scramble something together a last minute Plan B. This city was also affected by the hurricane - power outages, no gas, and flooding in some areas. The Lazy Goat is in the one part of the city that never lost power, located next door to the hotel we had booked to stay.
The team there was spectacular, and told us on Sunday evening that they would be able to host our party of 40ish people for a reception the following day. The ambience was perfect, the food amazing, drinks on point. They even got us a cake. ? They absolutely saved the day, and I will make a point to always support this place when I’m in Greenville. Thank you to everyone who made it possible, and showed up for us when your town was in distress. We appreciate it more than words can say. Thank you Lazy Goat team, for being our light.
