EXTREMELY rude employee working there. My husband and I were walking on Main Street in Greenville, when a homeless kid, once again a KID, maybe 17 years old or so, asked us to help him get some food. My husband agreed and he asked for some Sushi from Muraski which is the place next door to the Orient on Main. We went in, the waitress and im assuming manager in Muraski knew him cause he had come around before. We paid for his food while the waitress got him seated at a table outside due to him being a little intoxicated. Then all of the sudden an employee basically ran out of the Orient on Main and was practically berating the CHILD and telling him he cant sit at a table outside. My husband told the employee from the Orient that hes just trying to eat and to leave him alone. The waitress from Muraski also defended the kid and told the employee from the Orient to leave him alone and how its a public table and either way he is about to eat some food. The kid was not bothering anyone at all and was just resting at the table while waiting for his food to finish. This employee from the Orient was unnecessarily rude and ignorant. Kindness doesnt cost a thing and here is this man who is privileged enough to have a home and job is berating this young homeless kid. Come to find out later when we went to another restaurant and mentioned the kid, the hostess said he came in and asked for a job application. He is trying to make a living, no one knows his situation. And quite frankly the way that employee from the Orient treated him was absolutely disgusting. We have never eaten here and now, we definitely never will. We wont be supporting a business whose employees are intolerant and ignorant and get themselves involved in business that has nothing to do with them. Im not sure if this store is outright owned or who is in charge of the store but you should definitely reevaluate your staffing, because it is a horrible look on your business/company. I hope that employee is ashamed of himself.

The Orient is easily one of the best restaurants in downtown Greenville. The menu has a lot of great selections, the food is delicious, and the service is always great (be sure to ask for Tommy!). The sesame, garlic, and Mongolian options for the wok lunch are excellent, and their bento box is delicious. Portions are very generous as well. The owners are great people who strive to provide an excellent experience to their patrons, and it shows in every visit.

What a great place! Waitress Cyndi was awesome!! The food is so delicious, my husband had the hibachi steak, I had the Curry soup with shrimp and dumplings. Simply fantastic!!! Compliments to the chefs!!! We will be back again!!!!

Had a very strange time here. I don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon. The server started off the conversation by asking what we wanted to drink and then pretending like he didn’t hear and joked asking if the person said margarita. Also ordered an unsweetened tea and got a refill that was soured sweet tea.
The hibachi rice was hard and old and the white sauce tasted off. Don’t even start about the chicken, almost inedible.
Two different lo mein plates were absolutely loved. Super great and seasoned well.
My ramen tasted like fish. Straight fish sauce and has fatty parts from the chicken still on. Made a very unpleasant experience not knowing what we were biting into.

My wife and I came in to try The Orient on Main for the first time, and thanks to the horrible service we left without eating. The waiter had a nonchalant attitude from the very beginning, as if he didn’t want to help us or be at work. After looking over his mood several times my wife’s order came out and she thought it was supposed to be a roll but it was something different. When we said something to the waiter about the order he rolled his eyes and snatched up the plate. Needless to say we left and went to TacoSushi right down the block. Now they were amazing and very attentive to each customer and the food was excellent. That’s my experience The Orient on Main and I will never visit this restaurant again.
Egg roll best ever. Shrimp was overcooked and drowned in sauce.

I and many of my friends and the coworkers have been coming here for years. Their lunch menu has great options for price, flavor, and quantity. I would recommend dropping by here. Tommy is our server most of the time, and he does a great job! He’s definitely one of the reasons we enjoy coming here.

Stopped in while in downtown Greenville. This was our first time. OMG why didn’t I come by before??? It was amazing!! We tried all of the Dim Sum options and they were AMAZING!! Our server was named Tommy. I will ask fo him every time I come in. Do yourself a favor and try this place. It’s my new “”go to” Asian restaurant in Main Street now!
