The service was great! I saw on some other reviews that the environment can be noisy and while the noise level definitely picked up as more people arrived, it wasn't problematic at all for two of us. The food was great, especially the grilled chicken sandwich!

Food was excellent and our service too. But it's SO loud and hard to carry on a conversation without shouting or leaning across the table. We might not consider bringing more than another couple because of the acoustics. Otherwise, a really good menu!

We try to dine at the Vista every 5 days. My wife and I prefer to eat at the bar. Bartenders are awesome. Constantly offering new ideas in drinks. Excellent location, ample parking and hours are accommodating for us senior citizens.

This restaurant has a very cool vibe about it. They have a large bar area and comfortable seating. They also have a large patio out front. I got their chicken pot pie which was a more than generous serving and was delicious. Service was good and I thought the prices were fair. I'll definitely go back here.

A neighborhood favorite. Pleasant ambiance, attentive servers, interesting menu, and well prepared food. Only criticism is that the noise level can be excessive, especially with a boisterous group of friends nearby. The she-crab soup is a nice starter and the crab-cakes are delicious. Nightly specials provide variety to the menu. We return regularly.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner last evening at The Vista. After ordering cocktails (I tried the featured Malbec which was delicious), we started with the Beet Salad and hubby ordered the Scarpariello Chicken (new item and excellent) and I ordered the 6 oz. Linz Angus Filet (med. rare) with the new "All In" Sauce (yummy). The Filet was perfectly cooked and delicious. So glad they added an excellent filet (also available in NY Strip) to the menu. We passed on dessert. Thank you, Stephanie, for taking such great care of us. We will be sure to ask for you next time we're in and that will be soon.

As I hard as I would like to complement Vista on their food, they just aren't up to the level a Rick Erwin restaurant should be. I've eaten there at least four times and each time they fell short of a 4 star restaurant, (food.) Last night the roast beef sandwich was good. Lots of roast beef and the sauce was ok, more seasoning was needed. The big problem was the fries which never should have been served to us. Broken and burnt pieces dominated the cute, though small container they were served in. I'm surprised the server delivered them to us at all. It was that obvious. I suspect though the server isn't given the authority to say something to the cooks. In a better managed restaurant she would be able to say the food doesn't meet the standards of this restaurant. To end on a positive note, the ambience of The Vista is excellent, at least for me. Cushioned seats throughout the interior except the chairs at the tables. Lighting is great. Makes every one look good. The bar area looked inviting. It is on the main through fair into the restaurant though. So, even though inviting it is a bit to busy when the restaurant is full.

The only reason I am giving the two stars is for the drinks.. they were amazing. It was my 5 yr anniversary a milestone for us as couple.. my partner made the effort of carefully planning out our dinner and rest of our night and he always picks restaurants we have never been to. We reserved a table on the patio hoping for heaters (and because it was the only available reservation before 7) and we were so thankful that there were heaters.. we had to ask twice for them to be turned on.. when they were turned on they provided no heat whatsoever and the table next to us moved their table closer towards the heat along with us and we all ate in our coats. We ordered drinks and the cornbread appetizer. The appetizer came out first but we had no plates and no silverware so we had to sit there for a while, while it got cold before we given plates and silverware. I bet it is tasty when it's warm. After we finished the appetizer we moved the used dish and the appetizer plates to the edge of the table to be taken away but they stayed there throughout the whole meal... He liked his beer I liked my mocktail. I ordered the French dip and he ordered salmon with jalepeno Tartar sauce and ordered a Side salad. The salad saved the salmon canned it at the same time. The au jus was bland and tasted like water with a hint of beef broth.. the meat was also bland and unseasoned. The fries were seasoned perfectly. My partner and I made a joke that that's where all the flavor was. The salmon was plain and we relied on the condiment tartar sauce for any resemblance of flavor. At one point our water said " its getting pretty brisk out here I'm guessing you guys don't want dessert" WHAT?? I ordered a drink and we asked for the check. It took so long to to get the drink and the check that I forgot I even ordered another drink.. our waiter said the bar got "smacked". He asked about our dinner, we were honest. He did serve us some chocolate truffles but forgot to bring a pen back with him for us to sign the check so we had to wait another 10 minutes to check out so we could leave on to our next planned event... I feel like we paid $90 for a $30 meal...I was really excited about going here and I was disappointed from the moment I sat down.

Our family enjoyed our visit! The staff went above and beyond the moment we walked into the restaurant. Our server was kind and attentive and the food was 5-stars! I had the salmon with jalapeño Tatar. It was delicious and unique. If you're in Greenville, it doesn't have the location or hype that the downtown spots have, but I highly recommend.

The staff was wonderful. The food was fantastic. The menu while smaller than some restaurants offered good variety in both cuisine and price choice. The ambience was enjoyable as everyone was obviously pleased with their experience. Certainly plan to go back at another time.

Excellent

I have been to The Vista several times before, but last night was unhappy. The service was very slow. I ordered the she crab soup and a Caesar salad to start with. The waitress brought everything to me at the same time. She recognized the.timing wasn't good and acknowledged such. If I had been her, I would have off to take it back, she didn't. Had I done that, who knows how much longer I would have waited for our entree's. I don't mind spending money for good food but the level of service in the kitchen should have been better in sync. There's a lot of great restaurants in Greenville, I'm not saying I won't go back, but certainly may think twice.

Only outside seating was available, which was fine, we had to ask several times to get the heaters turned on, as did the other outdoor guests. Appetizer arrived with no silverware or plates. Salad came out the same time as our entrees. Empty basket was left on our table the entire meal. Salmon & French dip were very bland, fingerling potatoes were undercooked. Drinks were good. Server was very polite & apologetic about our poor experience. Overall we paid $90 for a $30 dinner.

The food was good. I say 3 out of 5. But what will absolutely bring me back is Roberta at the hostess stand plus the rest of the amazing, personable, kind staff! They really made us feel welcome and that's missing from many businesses today.
