I took a group from work to Tom's this week. It had been over a year since I had been there. Wow! The place looked great. It had been completely updated and tastefully decorated. The Barbecue was great, large portions and reasonably priced. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a very delicious barbecue spot that doesn't feel like you're eating in a tractor shed, I highly recommend Tom's Barbecue. Great food, great price, great staff, Clean and great service.

I like the BBQ at Tom's as it is fresh and plentiful. I usually have a BOGO coupon and there is no real issue there. If I could give a suggestion, tell the staff to at least act like they appreciate customers a little. They were totally uncaring that i came in. There are several BBQ places I can go. Make me feel like my $8.00 means a little. By the way, I was the only customer there.

We waited almost an hour for what I would call a ridiculous bbq potato. Way too small and just had cheese maybe 3oz of chicken and that is it! Go find another BBQ place!

Best bbq sauce (made with cheerwine!) in the Upstate. Their BBQ smothered baked potato is a must-eat.

After being a fan of this restaurant for over a decade, I will be looking for other BBQ places to frequent. I typically get the same entree each week, that is if they are not out of something, and the price changes each week. The portion sizes have gone down considerably, and now there are extra charges for sides that used to come with the meals (hushpuppies are now extra, not part of the meals anymore). I intend to give them another shot, but the last few visits have not made me enjoy them like the local food place they used to be.

Pulled pork was tasty and prepared well (slightly dry, but not bad at all). Chicken was dry, very tough, and bland. Sausage Dog was like a big (thick) hot dog -- not like a sausage. Ribs were good (cooked well, flavorful). Sweet Potato Crunch was very good and Mac and Cheese was also pretty good (dry-style, not gooey). Additionally, several items from the menu were not available and others were wrong (say 2 sides but came with 1, for example). Overall, I would not return.

Disappointed with the changes from the 3rd owners.We had gone to the original "Tom's" when Tom and his staff ran it. Loved it. Great value, great selections.Now, mac-n-cheese is a "premium side"????No hush puppies, what?? That was part of the signature entrees.Portion size has diminished and prices have gone up! Even the amount of fees is less.No lemon slices for the ice tea.No soda fountain, only bottled soft drinks, tea dispensers behind the counter so no more drink refills.This was our 2nd trip under the latest ownership and value and quality is slipping. Probably our last.Can't recommend it now. I hope they will get the message and return it to the original menu, quality and portion size, get rid of the "premium" sides, and put the drink dispensers back out so we can get a refill, and finally, put out lemon wedges and more sauce containers.

Was very disappointed with this restaurant. First, we went up to the counter where there wasn't a menu.. Simply a rotating screen that showed lunch options.. Although it was dinner time. Asked about kids menu and was told simply it's the same options as the adult menu. The staff was friendly, but only one seemed to know what they were doing. We ordered and went to sit down. When watching them put our food together, the cook staff only wore one glove and proceeded to touch everything with his other hand, including his face..then back to the food. Finally got the food and discovered that all the sauces were empty. Lastly, to top it all off.. I noticed the menu on the signage in the window which didn't match what I paid for at the price register. Essentially I bought a Plate that was served with 1 side for nine dollars and some change.. When looking at the menu in the window, it was a plate with two sides for the same price. This place seems poorly run and I do not plan on returning. Recommend you find other better bbq in Greenville.

The staff here is amazing and the food is truly incredible! It always feels like a home cooked meal and this place is probably the best BBQ I’ve ever had in my life, honestly.
The food was ok (bbq didnt taste super fresh kind of like it was microwaved but sides were good) but this used to be an easy experience and it's become hard. Regardless of the tasty grub I doubt I'll go again and I used to be a regular. I like the ease of going to the counter to order, sitting down, being called to get my food. Having the sauces at the table let you experiment if you werent familiar. Now it's a guessing game. I was able to get my own drink and my own utensils which made it a delicious and easy in and out experience. Now its confused, chaotic, feels unorganized. I mean how do you even pay now. You've taken a super quick easy and enjoyable experience and made it hard. Sorry just telling the truth. I think you should go back to taking orders at the counter, self serve drinks and accessories and put the sauces back on the table or at least have a card that outlines them

Friendly and welcoming staff. Food was fresh and served piping hot. The food was well seasoned and flavor was definitely on point.

Tried ordering over the phone. Put on hold for over ten minutes. Then went to the store to place an order. Waited for a baked potato loaded. Wife said it was cold and not half as good as in the past. Very disappointed.

OMG. Stop, you don't need to keep trying anything else. Tom's BBQ is the BEST in town. We have been searching for somewhere to find good BBQ and this is it. The pork sandwich with sweet & mild sauce was amazing, the BBQ chicken potato was delicious and the BBQ beans were smoked. Holy cow, the smoked beans!! So good. You will not regret trying this place if you haven't already. I almost forgot to mention the service. They were so friendly, helpful, and happy. The New Tom stopped by and helped us and checked on us throughout our meal. Such a refreshing experience, we will be back.
