Best fries we've ever had! The poke and ribeye were delicious as well.

Dietary restrictions: I have a lot of food allergies. They asked about dietary restrictions ahead of time and let me know what dishes I could not eat.

If you’re going to spend money on a nice dinner, this is the place! We went to celebrate my graduation and the food was perfect, service was impeccable, and ambiance was lovely. We started with brussel sprouts and duck poutine, which were delicious. Easily the best brussel sprouts I’ve had in my life. I got the spare ribs, my husband had the lamb, my dad had the steak frites, and my mom did the tuna tartar. Everything was perfectly cooked, thoughtfully seasoned, and incredibly high quality. The waitress was fantastic about talking through wine pairing options and checked in just enough. Phenomenal experience from start to finish! The only thing I’d say is just to make sure you have a reservation, because otherwise you won’t be able to get a table.

Urban wren has great reviews on here but our experience really was lacking in satisfaction. We started with drinks and appetizers at the bar which were all amazing! We should have stopped there because the experience from there went downhill.

We were seated and our server took our orders which we had been anticipating due to the great appetizers at the bar. Menu looked great but lacked flavor in all 4 different entrees ordered. Short rib was literally one short rib which consisted mostly of fat and no sides. The Chicken with burnt ends and collards should have been tasty but the dish was swimming in collard juice which smothered the seasoning sauce on the chicken.

For the price of the entrees quality should have been much better and been accompanied by a choice of simple sides. Would go back for appetizers and drinks but will go elsewhere for entrees at much higher quality and more reasonable cost

It was my first time at Urban Wren last night and won’t be my last. Harrison, our waiter, made our experience so enjoyable from beginning to end. His recommendations hit home and there was nothing I tried that I didn’t LOVE.

After two promising appetizers, Brussels sprouts and Korean fried chicken, we had four disappointing mains. The generous serving of sliced lamb loin was room temperature, bordering on cold for one of the two servings, which was also a tad below a true medium rare. The steak frites had a barely warm steak (although cooked a perfect med rare) but the fries were hot and clearly added to the plate much later. All three had great flavors, but had clearly sat in the pass for an extended period. Apparently, the kitchen needed that extra time to absolutely ruin the mahi-mahi main with overcooking; it was so tough and dry that we can’t even say the flavors were good. Even a cursory press with a finger after cooking would have alerted the chef who should have been overseeing quality that this was a total failure. We had a show to get to, so returning all four courses to the kitchen wasn’t possible. The server saw our fish eater was displeased, but she accepted his “it’s fine” even though any server with two months of experience should have seen that it was a disaster and at least comped his meal. Overall, a pretty dismal experience at what many say is Greenville’s best restaurant.

One of our favorite restaurants in Greenville. Fresh food, great cocktails and service. Love that they source from local farms.

My group had an outstanding experience on our first visit. Everyone ordered different entrées, and all were excellent. I had the short ribs with a plantain purée, which was rich and delicious. I would definitely come back to have it again. Our server was attentive, and the entire staff made us feel at home.

Parking: There's a paid parking lot across the street that's a very short walk to the restaurant.

I’ve been wanting to get into Urban Wren for a few months now, and I wish I hadn’t waited so long. Chef Marcus is cooking up some extraordinary dishes with seasonal and fresh ingredients and we got to try many of them.

First up was the plum burrata with grilled bread. So smooth!

For dinner I had the filet with a horseradish aioli and blistered tomatoes. I love horseradish but even if it’s a little much for you, THIS aioli is perfect for giving the flavor without the sting. The filet was perfectly cooked and still perfect for lunch leftovers the next day. Mr. Hello Greenville had the Guinea hen and absolutely raved about it. And Chef Marcus also sent out the duck confit poutine, a perfectly cooked dish of duck over fries with cheese and a spicy plum sauce, as well as the short rib dish, which was melt-in-your-mouth perfection.

We tried both desserts, an apple crisp that highlighted the apples without being overly sweet, and a flourless chocolate cake I may have dreamt about last night.

The service at Urban Wren was phenomenal. We got to chat with Marcus about the dishes, take our time, and enjoy the night. 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to go back!

I have attended several wine dinners at Urban Wren but last night was my last one. I won’t be back! The guest chef and wine were both amazing. Rating the food high only because it wasn’t food prepared by Urban Wren. The service was horrible! The building smelled terrible like stale mops when I entered. The wine dinner was scheduled at 5 pm. I was not greeted upon entry. After 10 minutes of waiting I made my way to the Tasting Room. A server didn’t show up until 20 minutes later. We were not offered additional cocktails or wine to order while waiting for the courses, but had to ask. Poor service continued throughout the dinner. Eventually left with no wine, after waiting for 20 minutes for my bottle order!!!! This restaurant continues to decline and their poor choices are evident. Don’t waste your time, there are much better choices in Greenville!

We are familiar with the menu that always rocks but what shined was not only the AMAZING daily special *short rib and potato croquettes* but also having the chance for Chef Marcus to come out and talk to our table it was a lovely way to get to meet the knew kitchen team from their food to personality. Great guys

Brian and Kyra brought me and my other daughter and son-in-law to visit and eat at one of their new found favorites, the Urban Wren. WOW!! I understand why they love it! We were treated like royalty! I have never felt so celebrated, and it wasn't even my birthday. We enjoyed fun drinks at the bar, delicious food, extra special service and attention, in spite of the fact that the place was packed. The wrath of Covid skipped over this wonderful restaurant. All the staff were above and beyond polite, friendly, and accommodating, and the food was perfect. What an exceptional evening we had! Thanks for the fun and the wonderful memory! We will be back!

I really wanted to love this place. It has so many great reviews, but unfortunately the food was not as good as the hype. We ordered the Papas Rellenas, one of which had ice cold ground beef in the center. We ordered the Tuna Belly and both were a tough chew. We also ordered the rigatoni and it was very average meat and pasta. No unique flavors and on top of that it had two small bone shards! (Bones as evidenced by texture and color). We had already told the server about the Papa Rellena and he offered to comp it, we decided not to mention the bone fragments, pain our bill and left. It was an anniversary dinner and they offered us Champaign and a congratulations card which was a nice touch. The poke appetizer and the cocktails were also good. Our server was great. Overall, the food lacked in flavor creativity, texture and temperature. Very disappointing, not worth the money.
