I walked in and waited maybe two minutes before a guy came up front and was completely rude. I felt rushed out the establishment I informed him that I was from another state, and I was real interested in trying their fufu. I ordered the goosy soup which I filled. The Food portion kind of poor. I went to the car after I grabbed my food, tasted everything and saying that my food food was too small for my order so I go back and ask, can I add another foo foo? He gives me a foo foo that is cold and as I leave the building, he says bye-bye, but in a rude way definitely wasn’t a good experience.

Our menus were missing pages but the food was great. It's alot of other items I'd come back and try. Atmosphere was nice, space is small but I didn't mind that.

We had the chicken suya, okra stew and jerk lamb today. All flavorful and vibrant. Both the chicken and lamb are high quality protein that’s cooked to perfection! Service was attentive and timely too. We’d always come back for more 😋

We had the most incredibly gracious server tonight and she made us feel welcome instantly. She was helpful in selecting dishes and she took good care of us. The food was amazing! Layers of flavor in each dish, even something simple like rice and peas was so well done. The curry chicken and the jerk chicken popped with flavor. If they have it, don't miss out on the house ginger drink. I like the strong and it is potent but delicious! All in all, a very pleasant meal experience for my wife and me!

A better African restaurant with the flavors of African cuisine, it's great, I loved it.

If you have a taste for authentic African food this is the place to be. And the music is an added bonus. R. Greggs🪘🎤🪘

Probably the most honest review you’ll get. Me and my boyfriend, like many others, have seen the viral Fufu with Egusi or some kind of stew/soup circling the internet and wanted to try it out. So we made the decision to finally find a place that sold it. I’m honestly incredibly disappointed by it all except the service.

Service: Honestly this was probably the best thing here and it wasn’t even that crazy. Our server was really nice and got us what we needed but nothing stood out about the service in particular. We did have to wave him down a few times but it was only because he was the only one serving and there were 5 tables.

Atmosphere: This restaurant was pretty gross. They do put stuff aside but you can tell they don’t clean the way they should. I used the bathroom twice and the ceiling was caving in and just a bunch of stuff on the walls. On top of that, this restaurant is also a lounge in the evening so it doesn’t give a welcoming vibe at all. You walk in and it feels so off. Very negative energy.

But let’s just say you don’t care about the service or atmosphere and want to know about the food.

Food: I’ll be blunt first and then explain why. I shouldn’t have to pay $20 for a large meal that is equivalent/lesser than the small.
My boyfriend ordered the small Egusi soup with fufu and it came on this tiny dessert plate and a tiny bowl that maybe made up 1 cup of food. He got one chunk of meat and the rest of it was the soup. Don’t get me wrong, the food was decent, but not as crazy as people made it out to be. And honestly might not be the dishes fault, could be the recipe they use. Then I received mine. I ordered the Peanut Soup with fufu and this is where it was incredibly disappointing. They said this soup only came in a large and they bring out a bowl the same size as the small. It comes with 5 small pieces of beef and soup. Nothing else, no veggies, no extras on the side, and my fufu was slightly larger than my boyfriends. I had to pay $20 for this dish. I’m Filipino and we actually have a dish that tastes almost exactly the same but better because it actually has vegetables in it. And at a Filipino restaurant you’re likely only paying $8 for a large which would be 3x the amount you’re getting here.

I wholeheartedly believe that they over price the dishes because it’s popular but they cheap out on the servings. They’re ripping people off and it’s not worth it. Please take the time to research a good place because this is just not worth the money. I’m sure there are other places that serve this that actually give well portioned meals for a cheaper price.

Overall, I would never come back here. I regret not taking pics because I don’t normally do that when I’m eating but save yourself a trip and money. Take the extra drive if you have to, to try a different place because this is just not it.

This was out first time dining and we'll be back. Faye was very helpful describing menu options and gave great suggestions. The beef patty, oxtail, goat with rice dish, curry chicken, seafood plate with salmon, puff puff, and Ting were all really good. She even offered us a really spicy sauce to try which was very hot and a good additional to the goat dish. The place has an upbeat fun vibe but you can take your time eating with good conversations as the appetizer and meals are well spaced.

Good spot to post up and enjoy a good atmosphere with positive African and Jamaican energy!! Food is nothing to laugh at. My baked chicken was on point, and my cooked peppers were made just right. Don't sleep on this place and thanks again Chanel for the birthday love and wishes you and Wakanda staff gave to my wife. Definitely will be returning.
