This is a lovely restaurant where the food is always wonderful! We have never had a bad meal here. It isn't a fast restaurant as there is only one chef,( the owner,) because he is very exacting but that's why the food is consistently good. On some of the entrées they have half portions which makes it even more affordable. I highly recommend!

New to spending time in Greenwood. Tried Polo’s. Nice vibe, quiet without being boring. No bartender. My husband ordered a martini which was quite good, although very small, potato soup and blackened chicken salad, both good. I ordered the special which was a blackened ribeye and received a chop steak. Because only two people were working it took a while to flag a waitress down. Then it took time for them to get the order into the system and a long time to get the order out. Too long to correct a mistake. I took my order to go because my husband had been finished eating. Mistakes happen but the length of time to correct was way too long. We received an apology from the waitress that did not take the order. No offer of amends other than remaking the dish. The steak was just ok, not great. Will try Pollo’s again but 1st impression - was a C. Two people is mot enough to cover the restaurant and bar.

I’ve had my fair share of dining around the US and overseas. Overall, the experience was poor and I’d only give two stars but there was an effort by the servers to make things right so my 3 stars reflects that effort.

I made a reservation in advance. When I arrived I waited about ten minutes past my reservation time to be seated. Then our drink orders were taken. That is a fine start.

I believe thoroughly in good leadership. The servers were polite but were spread entirely too thin. Two servers, who also had to run the bar, is completely inadequate and unsatisfactory staffing. There was a third staff member that hosted or occasionally helped at the bar but honestly, she spent more time drinking her gigantic glass of red wine and chatting on the customer side of the bar than working. Gave me the impression, being older, that she was either part owner or related to the owner and her servers had to bust their tails to make up for her lazy work effort. Very poor management. How did I have time to notice all these things? Well, I’m glad you asked.

It took 50 MINUTES to bring out drinks. I had a coffee and it reminded me of the chow hall, in the army. You know, like Maxwell house but worse. It took 65 minutes to bring some bread. Our appetizer, Brie with apple and crostinis, took 80 minutes to be brought to our table. The main course took about 100 minutes. Well, how did it taste? I’m glad you asked that too.

My friends ordered the steaks Diane, medium, with risotto and French green beans. The filet mignon was tough, dry and a very poor grade. In fact, my friends swore to me that we had perhaps been lied to and given a different cut. I did try a bite. In my opinion, if it was filet mignon, it was as if McDonald’s had prepared it in an easy bake oven. The risotto and green beans were adequate but not outstanding.

I had the pan seared maple duck breast with bing cherry sauce, medium, polenta and French green beans. Again, the duck was over cooked and tough. It wasn’t greasy. The sauce was overly sweet. I’d recommend cooking it in a red wine next time to balance it out. The polenta was edible and the green beans were a little over cooked and under seasoned.

Now, the servers were polite and did apologize for the extremely long wait. I was not charged for the drinks or the Brie appetizer. I do appreciate that effort. The overall pricing was very high for the quality and long wait time. I have had outstanding food quality, service and pricing at restaurants in nearby Greenville and if you’re in the area you might as well drive there instead of waiting for the management at Polo’s to get their act together. Again, I thank my servers for doing their best in a difficult situation and I whole heartedly blame this situation on poor management.

Oh, small thing, but as the final coup de gras, I was charged an extra fee for using my credit card. At a “fine dining establishment” it is just tacky. Put it into your pricing next time. It cheapens the experience.

Lamb chops tough with a bad flavor mash potatoes tasted like out of the box. Filet mignon over cooked same mashed potatoes. Extremely disappointed. Wine and service was great.

Best food in greenwood by far. Renowned chef that to my understanding cooks it all. Chicken cordon bleu on special is insanely good. Price does not reflect the quality of food. It’s incredible. If you haven’t tried it you are absolutely missing out. People that say Greenwood doesn’t have good food haven’t been here. Cocktails are delicious as well. Perfect date night spot.

Nice little restaurant with a lot of food options. Old world design style and prices are comparable. Love the half portions options.

Took 2 1/2 hours to be served…. We’ve often loved coming here and love the filet mignon, but 2 1/2 hours is just way, way, way too long to wait. And here’s the best part — no one came to check on us the entire time! Seriously, no exaggeration! I can totally forgive a lot of things but this was just plain silly. Took 3 hours total from being seated to signing the bill.
