Came here 7 years ago when I was in college and had a wonderful dinner. Went back this year with high hopes of another great experience but was disappointed. We were the first to arrive right when they opened and somehow still took an hour to receive our entrees, even with less than five tables total dining by that time. We enjoyed the wine but the calamari appetizer was lacking in flavor. My husband had the NY strip and I had the shrimp and scallops (same thing I had seven years ago that I loved), but both of our entrees were lukewarm if not cold and again little to no flavor. We were planning to get dessert but didn’t want to potentially wait another hour before receiving it so we declined. Our server was very nice and the feel of the restaurant is romantic and intimate, but the food and wait time is enough for us to decide that we won’t be back. If the food lived up to its potential the prices would be fair, but at this quality it’s overpriced.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant! The staff is very kind and inviting. The atmosphere is dark and elegant. The food is stunning! I mean incredibly delicious, and very well prepared. I am a culinary graduate, former culinary instructor, and a senior executive chef for most of my career, so food has always been my life.The prices are drastically less than they could be for what they are offering. Hats off to all of you involved. This place really blew me away.

Ordered calamari and it took a half hour for it to come out. I knew immediately when I looked at it that it was frozen from a bag. Our meals took an hour to come out and were okay but nothing to brag about. Not a lot of flavor in my sauce. Service was fair. I ordered a second glass of wine and never got it. Restaurant is in need of updating. I wouldn't go back

A fine dining experience Greenwood is blessed to have. A passionate love for the culinary arts creates a dining experience to be enjoyed and fondly remembered.The staff is young, some with limited experience. There are strong leaders in place for development. This has not impacted my dining experience. It may just require a little patience with servers who have yet to polish their abilities.A cozy and soothing dining room. That encourages you to take your time, enjoy the company you keep, and savor the experience. We have been dressed to the nines or dressed down in jeans. It's a place to be comfortable.The food is spectacular. The depth of flavors in each dish is meticulously crafted. Elegant French provincal to more eclectic Mediterranean. Pollo is an artist, and his restaurant is a beautifully painted picture.

The food isn't seasoned very well at all. I ordered tuna that was so severely overcooked that it chewed like steak. The waitress was extremely unhelpful and purposefully rude. I ordered a diet drink and instead of giving me a cold drink, they poured a hot can drink over cold ice... thus giving me a COMPLETELY flavorless drink. They did this twice bc I sent it back the first time hoping they wouldn't make the same mistake... I was wrong.This was my very first time going to Polo's after living in Greenwood for over 35 years. I see why...

Went to dinner on Friday July 7th. They were slow inside. Ordered drinks and salad then dinner. Never could get a server to come back to order more drinks, never got our salad and then dinner arrived. Ordered the Steak Dianne. The mashed potatoes were horrible. No salt. No flavor and would have said made from a box except that it had small chunks in it. Broccoli had to seasoning at all. Steak was bland as well. Chef obviously does not taste his food.

Definitely a favorite for us in Greenwood! Not only is the food delicious, but the prices are so reasonable! A real draw for us is the leisurely pace for dining…a lost luxury with most places just interested in “turning tables”. For those for a quick bite…Polo’s is not for you. We often spend 3 hours enjoying the food and company. We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, or just a night out with friends to catch up with each other. The appetizers and salad selections are numerous and unique. The steaks are top notch…the filet mignon cuts like butter. The fish is always outstanding…prepared to the perfect temperature! No doubt due to the fact that Polo personally prepares each dish. Don’t forget to save room for dessert!The service is casual, but you never feel neglected. The servers, Jo and more recently, Sebastian, are knowledgeable of the details of each menu item, and the wine inventory.
