This was an EXCELLENT experience! First time here. They have a customer for life! Marlow was my hostess and she was soooo welcoming. The food was REMARKABLE! Everything made to order and the sensational blends of herbs and spices was unmatched! Thank you "The Main Event"; you made my day!!!

Going out to eat with two babies is hard! But man, I’m glad I chose to eat here for my bday. We felt very welcome and nobody gave us “looks” when our kids were being, well, kids!! That’s important to me- a good spot that makes you feel welcome. Everybody deserves to dine out sometimes. But really that’s beside the point. The food… COMPLIMENTS to the chef. Just what I was looking for. Collards were top notch. My little boy tore his sliders UP. His face in the pic says it all. Everything was perfect. And don’t come here without ordering that House Lemonade ? yall… I also want to say thank you for the service. So respectful and personal but still giving you your space. We will be back. Thank you?

Wow! What a great place to eat! The food was awesome and the service exceptional. The owner AJ was as friendly as can be, even taking us on a tour of the place. We’ll call this place a hidden treasure in Greenwood SC.

My husband and I attended an event at Maine Event tonight and ate at the restaurant. Oh my goodness the food is so good. It was well seasoned, portions were appropriate for the price and hot. If you’re ever in Greenwood, SC you have to give them a try.

Ate dinner here last night, my first time visiting and it was amazing!!! The atmosphere is awesome I LOVED the purple crushed velvet booth backs. The mac and cheese was the star of the show to me soooo good!!! Staff are very pleasant and welcoming, the DJ was the cherry on top to a great night! Thank you everyone at Maine Event I plan to come back for many more fun nights and great meals!

I went into The Maine Event with my sister and cousin. I ordered the curry chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and Mac & cheese, my sister ordered a spanish & shrimp pasta and my cousin ordered a fried fish with Mac and cheese with rice. Sorry we didn't get to take many pictures.
First off, I'll start with the pros. Our waiter was great. He was very helpful throughout the whole service even when my cousin requested a more fresh Mac and cheese he brought it back with no issues, unfortunately we did not get his name but I hope he sees this review and recognizes it he was amazing. The atmosphere was ok it was nice & cool inside, the decor was nice, they provided both music and TV.
The food honestly it's like "don't judge a book by it's cover" On the pictures on Google the plating look nice and our food looked great from just appearance. When we received our food we realized it wasn't even hot at all, everything was either bland or dry. The chicken and Mac and cheese were dry like they were cooked the day prior and was slightly microwaved. The potatoes were bland and my sister pasta portion was the smallest I've ever seen from a restaurant and also had white particles floating on our drinks. We all got the house lemonade.I really would like to give this place a chance but the food that we're given to us was just sad

This place is a whole vibe!!! I met the owners and they were just as friendly as the rest of the staff to include the bartender. Food was amazingly delicious and drinks were on point! I had enough to take home. This is definitely a hide gem that I’m glad I found. I will be back!!

The Maine Event is such a hidden gem. It's the total package! The food is phenomenal, service is friendly, and the owner is the sweetest most humble fella you ever want to meet! The live DJ was awesome, playing all my songs, and attractive decor is sure to make this one of my regular go to wind down spots! ??

Good food friendly staff ?

Ask if I could use restroom. I have a medical condition. And never had a problem til today. Had all intentions of purchasing something. Was told no. And that the last time I used it I didn't wipe the seat. So my rating is 0

We were intrigued with the diversity of the menu we saw online and decided we had to try this place out. We all enjoyed what we ordered. We enjoyed the complimentary cornbread so much we asked if we could buy some to take home.. AJ, the owner hooked us up with some and, took us on a tour of the new bar and event center he's created to bring entertainment to the area. We'll definitely be going back to try other dishes and see who's performing.

We ordered the Breakfast and "Omg" it was Great! I ordered cheese grits and fish and it reminded me of my grandma's home cooking. The Restaurant is clean and the Vibe is GrownUp. The prices are reasonable and the service was Great!
