Not our best pick. Its okay, mediocre overall. Not bad, but nothing fabulous. Got 3 seperate dinners, 2 recommended by waiter and chicken and beef taquitos. Couldn't eat the taquitos. Tasted like bad grease or something. Got the chicken strips, rice, cheese that they all tend to sell, but it didn't come with queso, it came with a tiny sprinkle of grated cheese. We also got a beef dish with bacon pcs. Beef was too tough, bacon flavor overtook it. Portion was good. Price...
I travel an hour to eat here. I would put it at the top of my list in the category of your standard Mexican restaurant in the southeast. At first glance, you wouldn’t think there was anything particularly special about it, but it the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend the chicken soup or the chiles poblanos with ground beef (you have to request this). Atmosphere is simple and no-frills, but feels comforting and cozy. Staff has always been very friendly...
