This place is a hidden gem in Greer. The servers were very polite, cheerful, and timely. The food came out piping hot and perfect. The atmosphere waa very calm and enjoyable. My steak was cooked exactly how I ordered it, super flavorful, and melted in my mouth. Our dessert was beautiful and amazingly delicious. I highly recommend going here to celebrate or just to treat yourself.

My girlfriend and I decided to celebrate our 1 year anniversary here and I am glad we did. From the moment we walked through the door till the moment we left everything we experienced and every bite we tried was on point perfection. When we walked through the door we were greeted and seated by the chef (who was incredibly nice and welcoming) both of our servers were attentive and nice the menu was explained perfectly. We decided on the seasonal fall 5 course , the lobster bisque and the surf and terf flight. We also decided to try their new mocktails since we don’t drink. The seasonal 5 course was perfection of bites that absolutely reminded of fall time. The surf and turf came with two steaks and a lobster tail. Every bit of the food was cooked perfectly and way larger than expected. The mocktails came out amazing and my girlfriend and I left stuffed full and with a second desert of cheese cake.
As far as the atmosphere in the restaurant it felt like we stumbled across a hidden gem. Chef would walk around and greet and mingle with the tables in between his needs in the kitchen which made it feel like the perfect personal touch.
Everything about our experience was amazing and I cannot recommend dining here enough!

My hubby and I went to 509 Bistro to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We had never been but heard good things about the food. Is it expensive? Yes, but well worth it. They have a nice menu selection and I enjoyed the wine pairing flight with my meal. My husband enjoyed his meal as well and had a beer which we didn’t know they offered beer till we got there. Rachel, our server was attentive and a very nice person. We met Chef Guichard who is very nice as well. He brought us comp glasses of prosecco and toasted our 30 years with us. We will definitely be going back.

We have been twice now and absolutely loved it both times! The unique selection and plating is like no other place. The food was robust in flavor and everything paired perfectly. The wine was wonderful as well. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The chef/owner was such a delight. It's obvious how passionate he is about his food and customer happiness. I would absolutely recommend coming here. Yes the prices are a bit high, but when you're paying for quality it's absolutely worth it. It is quite small inside but if you prefer to have more space the patio is beautiful for sitting!

We went into this dinner with high expectations based on its reputation, but the experience didn't quite live up to the hype or the price.
Overall, the food was good, but it didn't feel special enough for what we paid. The appetizer, a peach dish, was tasty, but we were pretty sure the peaches were canned, which isn't something you'd expect from a high-end restaurant. My steak was cooked perfectly, just as I asked, but it had a smoke flavor that tasted artificial and was more distracting than enjoyable. On a positive note, the food was presented beautifully.
The biggest problem was the atmosphere. Our table was right next to the kitchen, and the staff's chatter was so loud it was impossible to ignore. Because the restaurant is so small, the noise really took over. We even overheard a front of house staffer ask one person to be a little more quiet, but it didn't make a difference.
There were also some basic service missteps that were surprising. For instance, our dirty appetizer plates and silverware were never cleared from the table.
Everyone was very nice, and the wine pairing was good, so maybe we just caught them on an off night. But for a $275 bill for two people, you expect a much more polished, customer-focused experience. If the meal had been a third cheaper, we would have been very happy with it. At this price point, however, it just didn't feel worth it.

This restaurant has a creative menu concept where each course comes as three mini “flights” of different dishes. It is a fun idea and I can see why people love it. The wine pairings were excellent and the carrot cake we tried for dessert was a standout. Service was also great. The chef checked in with us personally and our server Scott was friendly and helpful.
For my taste, the House 509 Flight leaned a bit salty, so by the last bites it felt heavy. The Loaded Guacamole with honey shrimp and the Lobster Bisque were both tasty, though I would have liked more special chips for the guac given the price. Dessert included a crème brûlée flight with lavender, coconut, and churro. They were pleasant, but the flavors did not come through as much as I hoped.
Overall, it is a welcoming place with excellent staff, great wines, and a cool concept. With a few tweaks to flavor balance, it could be truly outstanding.

I have been a few times now and love it each time. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The chef is top notch and checks on everyone. The waitress is very attentive. I have celebrated 2 occasions with them and they make your celebration extra special. My husband is gluten free and also loved his dinner and the chocolate tort is to dye for.

the food is delicious, atmosphere is so pleasant and relaxing. and the chef and staff are so attentive. We had a celebration there this evening and loved every moment of it, from starters all the way to desserts. you can't go wrong.
Excellent dinner with well curated wines. The chef / owner was SO KIND and came out to introduce himself, check on our meals. Our server was also helpful, present, but not rushing or hovering. Definitely the nicest dining experience in the area.
I can’t say enough positive things about our first visit to House 509. Chef G and his wife accommodated our family and our special needs son, and as delicious as the food was, this spoke volumes above anything else that could have happened. The best filet mignon I’ve ever had - and the wine flight pairing was breathtaking. Thank you, thank you for the amazing food, service, and for your kindness. We can’t wait to visit again. The creme brûlée cheesecake with the churro topping was to die for. We are still raving about our entire experience weeks later!
