First time I had the shrimp special (shrimp, rice, veggies, queso) the vegetables were frozen vegetables, not fresh. They look and taste exactly like the frozen microwaveable vegetables you get from the frozen food isle. Soggy and waterlogged. I got it again tonight thinking last time was a one off but it wasn’t. The same soggy water filled vegetables were on the plate. This is a $17 meal and deserves fresh ingredients. I will not order again. Giving three stars bc the other people I was with got burritos and they liked them.. they had fresh, not frozen ingredients!

The food was actually delicious. We had quesobirria and a steak plate. I'm picky about Mexican food being authentic and I can say its pretty authentic. This restaurant deserves more than a 4.2 rating. We will be coming back!

Really neat mexican restaurant with a full bar. Our server was excellent. Although they did seem a bit understaffed as she was also the bartender and hostess, apparently. Albeit, it wasn't particularly busy since it was a Sunday night, so there wasn't a lack of service or anything.

Service was excellent. The fajita vegetables were the best I’ve ever had. Typically restaurants overcook them to the point at which they are limp and slimy, La Joya left them crisp and flavorful. Great dining experience overall.
