I ordered the “jerk chicken”. It was disappointing in the sense that when it came out it wasn’t infused in a typical Jamaican jerk seasoning (such as Walker’s Woods) . It was covered in what basically tasted like barbecue sauce. It is a safe bet that it was not even marinated overnight. If one were to “Gooogle” jerk recipes, you can see the images and how the jerk seasoning is infused into the chicken. The chicken is not covered in sauce. There is no need for it because the chicken has been properly infused with the jerk seasoning.I used to eat weekly at a Jamaican restaurant, just outside of my neighborhood and I am very familiar with the process. This certainly is not jerk chicken. It is baked chicken with some kind of sauce (very mediocre at best) drizzled over it. Lastly, they have no ice. They recommend that you walk over to the taphouse to get a cup of ice.

Stopped for lunch on a weekend, took 34 minutes to get my food. Owner personally apologized, refunded my money, and gave us the meals. It was delicious, will be returning!

I have ordered from here twice and I want to like it so bad but it just lacks in flavor so much. I’ve got the curry chicken and jerk chicken. Both are tender and juice but there’s such a lack in flavor and spices which is exactly what I would expect with Jamaican food. The rice, beans, and cabbage are good but I have to add salt and pepper. The coco bread honestly taste the same as loaf bread from the grocery store. They definitely can cook don’t get me wrong on that, but the execution takes away from how good the food could be. I think their prices are good too. If I were to give any criticism to the owners would just be to elevate the flavor.

We hosted an event on the upper floor of Cartwright Food Hall and had Mi Irie on Trade cater some of the food! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We received many compliments on how healthy, varied, and yummy it all was. We look forward to partnering with Mi Irie on Trade to host more events in the future!

Service has gone downhill. Last time I ordered to-go food, they forgot something on my order. This time, I ordered through the toast app which said my order would be ready at 7:11. I walk in around 7:25 to check on it because I hadn’t received an update and they hadn’t even started to make it. There were no other orders they were working on and they were doing inventory. When I asked about it, they told me they had been having trouble with the toast app and didn’t see my order, but then “conveniently” were able to locate my order shortly after. They asked if I still wanted the Jamaican beef patties that I ordered with my food because they were out and would take another 20 minutes to make. I didn’t feel like waiting another 20 minutes so I said no.

I grew up in NY eating beef patties on coco bread at Kennedy’s Fried Chicken at very odd hours of the night. Mi Irie’s beef patty on coco bread is far superior and harkens back to my younger days. 10/10 wish they were open until 5 am sometimes.

Friendly staff and service. Oxtail is good and reminded us of a traditional pot roast mom might make. Because of the cut, the meat is pretty fatty, but prepared well and taste good. Side dishes were excellent.
