This is the dive bar you’ve been looking for! April was our awesome and friendly bartender. We had the chicken wings (good quality wings) and the blacked fish sandwich. We both had multiple drinks and the tab was just over $50. Will definitely be back! Great pub food, CHEAP drinks- rad tiki bar atmosphere. You may want to call ahead and check about food- the kitchen has different hours than the “bar.”

My experience was good! I ordered the gizzard/liver mixed. I don’t eat gizzard but hers was on point…. No long chewing at all. They were Soft and almost melted in my mouth. The server was nice. My main dish was stewed shrimp & SNOW CRAB… the flavor was everything. However, my only issue was that my dish did not have snow crab meat but imitation crab meat. I hope when visit again, there’s some real crab meat on the plate

The food was good. The lady April that was working the bar had a horrible attitude. She was saying g that she did not get paid and she did not like her job. If she doesn’t like it there then she should get another job. She was cussing and throwing things. If I would’ve matched her energy it would’ve been a problem. Since she doesn’t like working there, do her a favor and let her go. I did not know taking food orders and making drinks was so difficult. Don’t keep people around who can potentially harm your business. April I hope you find a job that matches her skill set….whatever that may be because customer service is not it. It wasn’t our fault that the kitchen got our order wrong, she should’ve taken her frustration out on them. If we were the issue she could’ve been an adult and talked directly to us instead of complaining to the other customers. Just in case you don’t know who I’m talking about it was the older looking lady with the dark hair in a ponytail that had on the dingy gray hoodie on 13 October 2024. Thank you for your time.

They claim they can't get an update on restaurant menu. It's confusing and a n inconvenience.

This is a great place to stop in and have a drink and grab some food. We stopped in for a bite to eat and ended up staying for 4 hours. The food was incredible and Michael the bar tender was the most fun to hang out and talk to. We will be back and highly recommend if you have some time on your hands and want some really good food and interesting conversation go the Beach Break Grill and make sure you ask for Michael

The food was absolutely amazing. Everything was seasoned to perfection and serve hot and made to order. I highly recommend Mama Joy’s if you are looking for well seasoned authentic Soul Food!
