Nice atmosphere, main entree’s were good, drinks priced reasonable. Would have given higher rating but when we ordered a slice of pecan pie for desert and I’m not exaggerating here, it was a very thin 1” slice.

This food was bland and fishy. Zero seasoning on the peel and eat shrimp. My husband and I ordered blackened shrimp and flounder. Blackened barely had any flavor and seasoning. My husband said the flounder was overcooked and had a rubber texture. With so many other choices on HHI please please don’t waste your money here.

Yes Black Marlin deserves 1 star. I would give it zero stars if possible. After hearing some recommendations for this place I at least expected to have a decent meal with my family. The first mistake was ordering sparkling sangria. Everyone in our group was of drinking age but what we were brought was "Sprite and orange juice" according to the waiter. The "sangria" was supposed to have sparkling champagne and orange juice. After the sangria mixup I was given my entree. What I got was an inedible steak covered with an unknown "seafood mix". The photo might not look too bad but I took one bite of the steak and immediately tasted a horrible bitter acrid flavor. I had to spit out the steak. No meat should taste like it's spoiled coming from a kitchen restaurant. Every other meal from my family members was lackluster and bland for the cost. I would take these 5 star reviews with a lot of caution. I don't leave one star reviews lightly.

If you want a nice quiet seafood dinner - STAY AWAY! Dueling music from the restaurant bar and outdoor bar was VERY annoying. Sound from outdoor bar is brain numbing loud and heard in restaurant. Food was very good except unenjoyable due to "music". Remodel is very nice. Should have added more noise control to keep outdoor band music out of restaurant. I would have ordered some desserts but just wanted to get out of there. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Maybe the Black Marlin should offer free ear plugs?

We went here for Sunday brunch, primarily for the bloody mary bar. It was our server's first day on the floor so my first bloody was made for me instead of me being able to make it myself. Honest mistake and round 2 was make my own. I was a little disappointed in the bloody mary bar options. No season salt, no blue cheese stuffed olives, and no worcestershire sauce. Definite area of improvement. For food, they had housemade donut holes with blueberry compote that were incredible. They also has a huevos rancheros special. Being from Texas, and alongside a bloody mary bar, nothing could sway me from this and it was delicious. My wife had the breakfast burrito and not only was it huge, she really liked it.Also, the menu on their website has not been updated in a while. Bloody Mary is listed at $4.00 on their website menu but it was $6/$7/$8 depending on the vodka you wanted.

Went there tonight and we were excited about dinner! Figured the reviews were good. I have to say the place was not busy only two other tables in the dinning room and one out on the deck area. Our waitress Hope was absolutely horrible! Waited 5 minutes to greet us! I asked to try a sample of a local beer. She brought it promptly said while you try it I'll grab you two some water. 10 minutes later she came back with water.Keep in mind the place was not busy. We order drinks and placed our food order. Another 10 minutes went by, she brought the drinks and the food arrived a few minutes after that. My pasta primavera was very good! My wife mahi mahi was very over cooked and even with the beans and rice was very over priced at $32. The table next to us received bread and butter. We were not even offered it. She came back with the check not even asking if we wanted another drink or dessert! We ended up leaving cash because after 10 minutes of waiting she never came back. I guess sometimes service is better when the place is busier. Or, she really would be in the weeds?
