The absolute best experience I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time not to mention the barbecue was out of this world, and the place smelled fantastic. The super nice lady that seems to run the place could not have been more kind, nor more hospitable. Definitely a find on Hilton head, best barbecue on Hilton head.

Weekday lunch stop while visiting. Got pulled pork sandwiches and the pork was perfect. Soft and moist pulled pork. Wide variety of sauces and you get two choices, so nice amount of sauce.

Bullies has easily been my favorite restaurant on the ENTIRE island for all the years we’ve been coming here to vacation. When my husband and I walked in yesterday we knew immediately that it didn’t feel or look the same. I asked the woman that took our order if the place had been sold and she said the employees had taken over the business. I ordered a family dinner so that other family could taste why I love them so much. My hunch of things not being the same were spot on. The ribs had absolutely no rub on them and they were chewy. Besides being rubbery, they were dry as there wasn’t even BBQ sauce on them. We threw away more than half the rack. The cornbread was not fresh and was very dry. To say I was disappointed in the taste is an understatement. I am not one to write reviews but I am hoping the employees see this and step up their game. I told my husband I think that was the last time we will ever eat at Bullie’s and it made me very sad. I wish the original owner a happy and relaxing retirement but it appears that no one can replicate his magical food.

They have huge jugs of Sweet Baby Rays behind the counter and I think they just add certain spices to make their “different sauces”. That should be a leading indicator here. Nothing was excellent, the macaroni side was actively not good. I have high appreciation for BBQ of all different regions and this is a hard pass.

Food was great; had a Family Dinner & we all loved the ribs, the pulled pork, the beans & cole slaw along with the Jalapeño Cornbread. I'm a Texas Hill Country burnt ends kind of brisket fan-what can I say-but still found the brisket tasty. The real star(s) was the service we received from the entire staff. Whether it was offering each of the sauces with our dinner or giving us samples of the different types of cole slaw, the service was top notch. Will definitely be back the next time we visit.

Just damn good BBQ. I have been eating this BBQ since they first opened and every year since when I returned for golf trips. Now that I move to HHI and only a 10 minute walk, I will have plenty of Bullies. Chicken, pulled pork, or ribs, it's all great. Several sauces are available and plenty of gluten-free sides. If you are celiac or gluten-free, then you know fries are a treat, so order a box rather than a side order. The baked potato salad is outstanding.I have heard and read that Bullies is the best BBQ on the Island. Not sure why limiting to the Island, because this statement can extend much further.Give it a try, guaranteed not to be questioning the decision after a few bites.Handsome Sammy's favorite is chicken and a close second is the pulled pork.Vegetarian options: No, it's a BBQ placeDietary restrictions: Celiac and gluten-free, this is your place.

We were helped by the kitchen manager who was holding down the fort on his own for the day. He was going to close but was kind enough to serve us anyway. The food was INCREDIBLE. Best brisket I’ve ever had. The baked beans are amazing. Different sauces to choose from, I had the Slow Burn and loved it. I wish I got the kitchen managers name, he’s amazing and the reason why the place is so good!!
We ordered the family meal to get a variety of meat and sides. I also ordered two extra sides of Mac and cheese. Our family has been visiting HHI for a very long time (20+ years) and we’ve been eating at Bullies every time we visit as long as they have been around. It’s one of our favorite traditions! Our meal tonight was nothing like it has been in the past. It’s like it’s under new ownership or something because the ribs are no longer seasoned with a rub, and the puller chicken and pork have no flavor unless you pour sauce on it. Same for the brisket. The sides and cornbread were good, but the sides of Mac and cheese are a fraction of the size it used to be. Not sure if we’ll be back when we visit next year.

Vacationing from the KC area and wanted to try SC bbq. This place was a complete flop. There was more grease in the tiny boats than there was meat. I was glad that they had a napkin dispenser at every table because you had to sop up the grease before you could eat it. I am not talking about juices this was straight grease. For the price this should get a negative star.
