From the gruff greeting at the door, total lack of service, overcooked eggs and wrong order served made for a Mother’s Day that didn’t make me feel special at all! Worst of all they weren’t even trying to make things better.

We have been coming to Hilton Head twice a year for 4 years. This is the first time we visited in the spring and the first time to Celeste Coastal Cuisine. We were absolutely pleased from the greeting as we entered and the great service from our waitress, Deidra. We even received complimentary champagne in honor of our 50th wedding anniversary! The ambience was superb- finally a place where you can hear each other speak and the dinner was delicious. We are due to return in June and it is definitely on our list of restaurants to visit. Thanks again for a wonderful dining experience!

We were excited to try Celeste as we had heard people rave about it. So our expectations were high. Unfortunately, our visit fell a little short.

We had made reservations so when we arrived they took us back immediately. They first had planned to seat us at a tiny booth for 2. However the hostess noticed my hubby who is 6'4 and asked if we'd like a larger booth. We did. However, it was strange the way it was set up and not much room between bench and table. So we asked to move to an actual table instead. I don't think they had planned to seat anyone there because there was confusion from the staff about who our server was supposed to be. We finally got a server and placed our order for a bottle of wine and an appetizer.

Hubs wanted to try their calamari to start and it was very good. Thick strips that were very lightly battered in a tempura batter & cooked perfectly. The wasabi sauce was delicious!

For my entree I chose the blackened redfish over gouda cheese grits. It was served with a creole syle sauce. It tasted great, but the portion of redfish was very small.

Hubs had ordered ahi tuna. Unfortunately, the kitchen somehow lost his order so we waited forever for our entrees to come out. When his finally arrived, it looked over cooked to me. The tuna was grey inside instead of pink, yuck.

Our server felt bad about the long wait for our entrees, so she brought us a dessert on the house. It was a bourbon bread pudding with peaches served with ice cream, and was delicious!

Overall, we felt the food and service was good, but not great. Maybe we caught them on a bad night.

My boyfriend and I decided to eat here as a date night while on vacation. It was AMAZING! The steak was delicious, the atmosphere was modern but also creatively rustic, and the service was a unique level of perfection. Deidre was professional, kind, and more polite than any server I have ever personally experienced. Even the small things were handled with care and elevated our special evening enough to make me walk out wanting to write my first ever review as a small token of appreciation. I would recommend Celeste to anyone wanting a dinner to remember!

The food was amazing. The Jambalaya was the dinner winner but the Tuna Crudo and 8oz Filet and sides were great. Will come back when we are back on HHI.

We absolutely love Celeste Restaurant. Every time we go the food is fabulous, the waitstaff is incredible and the atmosphere is so beautiful. Jessica and Deidre are always so wonderful to us. We bring friends and family there all the time.

Hidden gem. Upscale atmosphere, comfortable seating, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Excellent wine choices. We prefer Deirdre’s area.

Although the service was slightly slow, the food was delectable. The bartenders were exceptional, expertly crafting my wife’s drinks. Given our proximity, I am confident that we will return in the future.

I had higher hopes for this one as I know it’s the sister restaurant of the pearl. The food was ok. Nothing to really write home about. However our server was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Maybe just caught them on an off night.
