We went for our first visit Thanksgiving night and it was fabulous!!! Excellent service and the food was amazing! What a great place! We will be back for sure! Whole experience from food to ambiance to experience was great!!!
We were the only ones on the outside deck on Thanksgiving. The overhead heaters kept us warm, yet I'm glad I had a sweater. Our food was fabulous as always. Our fillet was cooked perfectly. Definitely expensive ($200+) for dinner for 2 ppl including 2 drinks, 2 wines, and dessert. But, we keep coming back because we know we will always have a fabulous meal.
Wonderful atmosphere and attentive staff. Everyone was cheerful and pleasant. The food was good....a bit disappointing when it came to the portions. Lots of turkey but the sides were very small. It could have been the plates were more like small platters. Overall, a great Thanksgiving dinner. We love dining at Ela's!
We enjoyed our meals very much! Well equipped with extra heaters outside for a cooler night. Great ambiance-we will visit again for sure.
Such an absolute treat! We celebrated our anniversary and were greeted with complimentary glass of champagne. Cold glass with every beer, generous pour of bourbon, yummy calamari and crab cakes and the salmon was outstanding!. Live music in the bar with songs varying from Cat Stevens to Bruce Springsteen, what is not to like? We will be back for lesser events and big celebrations..
Our server Raniel was very attentive and the food was very good. Truly enjoyed the experience
Unfortunately our experience left us underwhelmed. We had been there before and had a good experience. My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday which the hostess acknowledged. Our reservation was to sit outside. At first we were seated in a table for two which was on a slanting angle. We were moved to adjacent table. The waiter came by and when asked about lighting the candle, he said it would blow out. We insisted, and it never blew out. We ordered a bottle of wine and he opened it and poured the first glass. Never again checked on the wine status or poured another glass. A group of five women were seated at the table next to ours. Our waiter was constantly tending to their needs and did not check in with us until it was time for dessert or the bill. Meanwhile the other table remained his undivided attention. By the way, nothing was said or done for my birthday. The leftovers box was just thrown on the table for us to fill. This was a $200 dinner. I get better service at cheaper places and the food was good but there's plenty places with good food on the island. I don't recommend Ella's Red Fish would be a better option. Truly disappointing
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner very much. ELA's helped us celebrate by bringing champagne to our table. The service was great. The good delicious. One of our favorite places to go n Hilton Head.
The short ribs fried oysters and scallops were cooked perfect our waitress and the waitstaff were great. Always a great food and dining experience.
We had dinner there on Wednesday night for our first time. We had heard good things about it. The receptionist was very nice and seated us upstairs where we had an elevated table and a great view of the marsh. It was our anniversary dinner so they gave us a complimentary glass of champagne. The oysters Rockefeller were great and lobster bisque was good. However, my main course of crab cakes was disappointing. There were peppers and too much filler in them, the wild rice was hard and needed to cook longer and the side of vegetables was mostly peppers. My husband's meal of short ribs was very good. Our waiter was Andre and he was very good.

Wonderful dining experience at Ela's on the Waterfront. Attentive staff, beautifully prepared dishes, and a stunning setting — everything came together perfectly.”
The food was excellent, but we felt very rushed. We were from out of town and were disappointed by this experience
Slow service. Crab cakes came out cold. Food was good but not memorable. Painfully slow service.
Ela's provided excellent food and great service. Karen was our server and she was very knowledgeable, very patient, and made a few suggestions that turned out to be fantastic. I love going to restaurants where the servers know the wines and the food and are able to make suggestions to the patrons. Excellent service, excellent food, and beautiful ambience. We highly recommend Ela's.
Needed accommodations for a guest with cane and difficulty with stairs, despite advanced request to sit outside (less stairs) and on time for rather early dinner reservation 6:00 (on time) for a celebration (noted in comments section) was told nothing outside would be available (despite plenty of seating) we were directed instead to the top deck (not outside) with 12 steep stairs to climb. Accommodated back outside only when I advocated for the disabled guest. It was maddening disappointed my guests who were here to celebrate.
