My son chose ELA'S as the place to get engaged! He went to day before to scope it out and make a plan! The staff was so accommodating, they gave him the best table in the house. The hostess and the waiter were in on it. The waiter brought the ring with a plate that said 'will you marry me?' They coordinated with a relative who brought them the ring and videotaped the whole thing. We are so appreciative.

Thought this place was very average for the price point. Steak was chewy and bland. View of the water was nice and our server was friendly, but won't be back

There was 4 of us and we were seated at a bar table. The table looked like it was made from cypress with its indentations, leaving little room for much more than drinks. Since we ordered appetizers and entrees there was no room to put all the plates. That was the first issue. Second, we were at the bar table because we were told all of the outside tables were reserved, yet, there were empty tables the whole time we were there. Lastly the entrees were not very good. I had the salmon which was very dry with potatoes that were extremely bland. Our waitress was very good though. However, not a place we would recommend or go to again.

10 of us celebrated some birthdays. They were very accommodating with great seats overlooking the water. The staff was attentive and the food was great. Don’t skip dessert- it is worth the calories!!! Great venue in a fun location near shops.

The menu online is 6 to 8 dollars less than when you show up to eat. Started with tuna two ways, one is small diced and hiding under pineapple, the other way was 3 pieces of rubbery seared tuna. It was accompinied by 3 slices of unripened avocado where it required a knife to cut through them. The next course included a small bowl of lobster bisque with no lobster and high sodium taste, additionally we had a Caesar salad that had more Parmesan than lettuce. Entrees for the whole table had undercooked/raw vegetables, the brocollini was undercooked yet charred to overmask the taste of the vegetables. The new York strip steak was flamed to where any flavor from the fat was gone and I had to trim out the middle so my son's had something to eat. I had crab cakes accompinied by crab risotto, the risotto was so over cooked it held the shape of the spoon that put it on the plate and had the consistency of mash potatoes. The crab cakes themselves had decent flavor but fell short. To sum up, I would recommend against eating here. This restaurant is not somewhere you would see repeat customers. The bait and switch of inflated prices from website to table were shocking. The kids menu is lack luster. I haven't been this disappointed with an eating establishment in a very long time. If you are new to eating/visiting Hilton Head do not let the ambience outweigh your taste buds.

Food was delicious!!! We had a great view overlooking the water. Server was very nice and quick to respond with any requests we had. Gumbo was very flavorful. I don't like okra which was in the Gumbo but it was amazing. Both my wife and I entrées were good. Would encourage trying anything on the menu, u won't be disappointed!

The restaurant itself was very elegant and the view was lovely to see (we chose to eat outside). Upon entering it felt welcoming until we were (I guess) greeted by our server Kadian, her customer service was beyond 1 star actually. I’ve never felt more judged by a server because the color of my skin & appearance (before anyone wants to say anything I’ll break it down for you)When we asked her a question it was no type of server etiquette she barely answered our questions before walking off and to make matters worse my husband had shellfish allergy after walking away first time she comes back with bread he ask her to finish explaining dish to us. She replies I already put that order in (we did not ask to order we asked her about it) he then say does it have any seafood in it she advised him “No, why are you allergic” he said “no just shellfish” her response “well you’re supposed to say that beforehand” but how could we if she walked away. Now the table next to us she was more engaged with (friendly, smiling, let’s just be honest working for “tip”) Funny thing is we could’ve tipped well too but I guess she didn’t think so. Sooo that’s how we was treated all in all. I could write a novel with all the nonsense I felt tonight but I think I’ve said enough about her and her service!

Went here with my family for my fathers birthday. I messed up my reservation and without hesitation they accommodated us. Our server Ryan was awesome she was very attentive and her personality was great. She made our visit a great experience.Kid-friendliness: We had our 3 year old with us and the wait staff interacted with him great.
