Great sandwiches and really good potato salad. Serve is excellent and very friendly. Highly recommend! Take out or eat in.

The sandwiches at this place are great! I had the chicken salad and the wheat bread was so fresh and tasty! I loved how thick it was! My group also had the house salad and a BLT. All of them were very good!

This place was so good!! We heard about this place from some locals and wanted to check it out. The service was great and the food was even better. I would definitely recommend this place. It’s a cute little local business and we will be back!

I always make it a point to stop at Gruby's for a Pastrami on rye whether in Hilton Head or Atlanta when I am nearby. They are always very good. However the online menu for Hilton Head list Hot Pastrami Breakfast sandwich for $12.99. I was charged $15.49 for a Hot Pastrami on rye in the store. I then went back to my phone to see if I could find a menu with that price. I saw a picture of an actual in Deli menu from a year ago from another review listing it for $14.99. Unfortunately, I didn't look at the menu in the restaurant. So be aware $12.99 will not get you the sandwich with the pickle and coleslaw.

As native Brooklyn NYers my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the deli at Gruby’s. We’ve been coming to HHI for years but never had lunch there. We had pastrami on rye with coleslaw and a hot dog with kraut and mustard (spicy brown as it should be) and an order of fries. Of course Dr. Browns black cherry soda too. Food came out hot and was delicious. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I will go back and try some other items on the menu. Only thing I didn’t see were knishes, which would be a welcome addition.

Called them on Monday and they were able to get a catering order for 100 people fulfilled by Thursday. Customer service was great, as was all the food. They gave us a huge variety of sandwiches and they were all amazing.

Un-flippin' believable deli food. Period. Although I've lived in SC all of my life, I have regularly traveled to NY and NJ for the last 30+ years, so I know a good deli sandwich when I see one. This is truly a taste of NY in Hilton Head. For breakfast, I had coffee along with a Taylor Pork Roll, cheese, and dippy egg on a Kaiser Roll. My wife had the large Beef Brisket Sandwich with sweet tea. Excellent food, excellent service from Giuseppe. Eat on the patio area if the weather permits.

The food was overpriced for what we received. The menu suggests the portions are big but my husband and I both thought otherwise. His corned beef and pastrami "overstuffed" sandwich tasted really good but my (made-at-home size) turkey/brie/cranberry (etc.) was just ok. Sorry to say we would not return at that price point.
