I don’t often leave reviews but we had a great meal at Hudson’s last night while on vacation here in Hilton Head and I wanted to share that. Our waiter (wish I could remember his name) was truly great. He was humble and quiet but straightforward and honest with a perfect command of the entire menu including exactly where all of the seafood options were harvested and when. I tried the softshell crab prepared two ways per his recommendation. Both were excellent. I then had Mahi over risotto which he talked me into over the shrimp and grits by explaining the risotto was made by hand. It was also excellent. The drinks were good. Deserts of key lime pie and peanut butter chocolate pie didn’t disappoint either. I didn’t look at the prices frankly but it seemed in range. Everyone else’s meal was great but they didn’t really make an effort to try anything different so I think the key might be to do just that, ask the server for some ideas and then give it a shot. Hopefully you won’t be disappointed and maybe you’ll be as satisfied as I was. Good job Hudson’s! (If you are looking to give the server an attaboy we were on the front river facing section and he was the short light haired man, the other server working with him seemed equally great btw as we interacted with him as well).

We had such a good time! Our server Carly was great and everything came out in a timely manner. All the sea food was very fresh and yummy. I got the dozen oysters and scallop dinner. I would definitely eat here again if I’m in the area. We were sat on the deck near the boats and watched the sun set while sippin on our drinky drinks and enjoying the beautiful view.

My family and I had a fantastic meal here! My niece is 3 and Jay spent a tremendous amount of time with her explaining oysters and the difference between hard shell and soft shell crabs.At the end of our trip to Hilton Head, we asked my niece what her favorite part was and she said her time with Jay. He's the official hero of Hilton Head in our books!

Amazing atmosphere and excellent service. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the food I had. Soft shell crab lacked unique flavor and was not fried crisp. Sides were messily placed on the plate. The rice was hidden (see if you can find it in the pic), which represents how much of an afterthought it was in its preparation and seasoning.I've had better fries at many cheaper fast food restaurants.

It was pretty busy but we waited less than our quoted wait time which was nice. We caught the sunset during our meal as well which was absolutely stunning.I got the crab cake dinner which was absolutely delicious and very filling. My friends I was with all got oysters and all raves about them. The hushpuppies they give you at the start of dinner are also to die for.Our server, Carly, was absolutely incredible and attentive even for how busy it was. She went above and beyond which we all appreciated very much.

Stopped in for lunch. So many great choices it was hard to decide. Ended up with soft shell crab appetizer fried green tomatoes and a fish sandwich with Cole saw and potato salad. Needless to say I brought home a to go box.

I recently had lunch at Hudsons Restaurant and was somewhat disappointed!Lately the food has NOT been up to par in my opinion. I ordered the shrimp and grits meal and while finishing the last portion, I tasted some grittiness. The prep cook obviously failed to remove sandbags from the shrimp. NOT GOOD!I simply paid for my meal and left because I did not want to bring it to the Chef's attention and risk having my food compromised, as this happens in some of these restaurants.(former server)I sincerey hope Hudson's do a better job with the meals, as this could negatively impact the restaurant.Additionally, a makeover is LONG overdue! Restroom was poorly ventilated and unkept! Just because it is a seafood restaurant, ventilation and clean air should also be TOP priority!

Ok you got good seafood restaurants then there is the BEST AROUND seafood restaurants and this is the best hands down .. first suggestion and a big tip .. get there around 2pm if you want to sit outside and the wait will still be around 20 minutes .. They don't take reservations it's first come first served ,, really get there early ! Next, it's a seafood market, so the food is fresh off the boat .. best shrimp and oysters on the island by far .. John our server has been working there for 10 years and knows the history of the restaurant.It's been a restaurant for 50 years but a fish market for around 100 years .. Just a great place to go to and watch the sunset and have a drink .. last thing it's cheaper than the other restaurants around . Hailey was our waitress this time, and by far, our best waitress on the trip. We love this restaurant and come back every year.If you come ..Come early 2ish parking can be a Bear at times 5pm
