Went here for after dinner drinks and some music. Was completely shocked and confused when the bill came for one beer and a bourbon on the rocks to find out we were charged $2.00 for ice! Not to mention they snuck in a $5.00 charge for each of us for entertainment, when we arrived at 10:00pm and literally listen to 2 songs! Not a cheap person by any means but I’ve never been charged for ice in my life! They lost my business and I will not refer anyone either. Hope the owner realizes cheapness = no repeat customers!
The food, the service from Emily and the entertainment were all very good. We will be back!

So this place is definitely a gem . I would recommended you eat before and pre game . Just go enjoy the entertainment or drink wine because the drinks are awful. I ordered the Gillespie it was terrible I think thats the name it Taste like lime soda water and some other drink. We also ordered the oyster it was salty and greasy not to mention small portion for the cost. The service was slow and very unorganized. But we had a wonderful time listening to southern charm I definitely will visit again when I’m in town from Florida.

We went here tonight based on the recommendations and were very disappointed. Extremely under staffed! We placed our order and 1.5 hours later, no food! Appetizer came out in about 30 minutes and was very good. Ordered ribs and were told they were sold out and would 45 min to an hour to get them. Ordered other food but still took an hour and a half to get anything. Pork dish was advertised as 8 oz but was about half that and very dry; grilled vegetables were microwaved out of a bag and not grilled. Puddle of water in plate. So sad! Our server was also the bartender and was obviously over extended to handle tables. We left hungry and disappointed after paying a $100 bill for an appetizer, drinks, and two sub par dinners for 4 people.

This establishment was good. I stop short with my top notch review due to the hidden charge. I called it hidden because we were not made aware from the onset. So we visited this establishment from a referral from an individual who over heard my husband asking for a live band at another location. We walked in and this place was the perfect blues looking atmosphere all the tables were filled. The band was great. The singer was excellent. The sweet spot was the singing bartender. This gentleman sing and mix drink at the same time. It was a show stopper for sure. Now let me conclude with why they did not get top notch. Please let your customers know from the time of entrance that we are being charge an entertainment amount. We came in and was not told and did not see anything stating this we happened to order two drinks and upon receiving our bill we were hit with the charge. I happened to see a menu on one of the tables when some other individual left and at the bottom of the menu it stated “You may be charged a entertainment charge” without explanation as to why this is. Now my question is there a two drink minimum? or is there a food order requirement not to be charged this fee? Please make it clear to your customers. We were new to your establishment and no one informed us. We should have been informed at least at the time we ordered our drinks. We were not given menu to see this information. at the time we ordered our drinks. Transparency is the key. With that being said Kinda Blues is more than Kinda good. Don’t miss out!

Very nice place good food live music amazing people
We were here for a rehearsal dinner. Owner didn’t deliver as promised. Horrible food, actually ran out of food and about 30 people had nothing to eat. No servers, the grooms mother was running around getting water for people, they ran out of glasses. Food was bad, very bland and tasteless. Jambalaya was just tomatoe sauce and a few onions and no meat, very bland. Grooms parents got hit with a cover charge for all of their guests (62) because there was a band next door. Will never ever step foot in this establishment. Owner has no idea what to do or how to do it even though he assured the parents everything would be fantastic.

Had reservation for 6PM to 8PM to eat and listen to music from 7 to 8. It was 7:30 when we had given up on hearing any music. As we were leaving the music started. Should not advertise a time and than not deliver. Not acceptable.

We enjoyed our time at Kind of Blue! Great music, atmosphere and the food was good. They stayed open late and with a great bar vibe and live entertainment. Just go, order a burger or baked oysters get a drink and jam!

Kind of Blue is a hidden gem in Hilton Head!! If you’re in the mood for good drinks, great food and amazing music and entertainment, this is the place to be!!
As my family and I were visiting , a local told us about Kind of Blue and we celebrated my birthday!! We had the best time and everyone had fun listening to the owner and Marquis perform live! They performed different genres to perfection! Every time we visit Hilton Head, Kind of Blue will definitely be our place to hang out!
