Another wonderful dining experience. We were four ladies celebrity two birthdays. Three of us had the early dining baby back rib plate, and one had the shoulder steak. We were all very, very happy with our choices. Michele, our server, is a sweetheart. She brought out dessert plates for us for the cake when we were done, since we were allowed to bring our own cake in. She couldn't have been more helpful. Absolutely my favorite restaurant on the island. And we will certainly be back many more times.
We enjoyed the calm quiet atmosphere. Although it was perfect for our family to enjoy discussion and laughing. The waiter was friendly and engaging and food was delicious! Definitely recommend!
Everyone in the neighborhood knows, but a hidden gem to most. Hang out after your round for sure. The service is the best on the island. Ricky runs his butt off, Sean hustles, they all really work to make your meal awesome. From the steak salad and fish dishes being great to what my kids think is the best hot dog and fries you can get, it's awesome.
My wife and I met another couple here for lunch. This restaurant also doubles for golfers on the Oyster Reef course in Hilton Head Plantation. Service was a bit slow but we were in no hurry, so this wasn't an issue for us. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos (you get two and no sides) and my wife had the Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich. My tacos were very tasty and loaded with shrimp and fixings. I like spicy food and the tacos had the right amount of kick with the sauce and seasonings. I would get these again. The PR sandwich wasn't a big hit, however. It comes on a brioche bun, not a traditional hoagie type roll. The Au jus dipping sauce was very watery and heavy in vinegar. We both had a draft beer. Her Miller Lite was cold, my Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, while good, was slightly colder than room temperature. Our friends had the same shrimp tacos and a 'Shroom Burger and were very pleased with their dishes. I give this an overall 4-star rating on most everything. It is a comfortable restaurant, has a lively bar, and offers patio seating.
Lagerhead Tavern is the weekly after golf dining place for my neighborhood golf group. The food, wait staff, management, bartender and ambience are all fantastic. Love this neighborhood gem!
We met family at the Lager head for lunch. The food was very tasty and the portions were abundant.Ricky Navarro was our server, he knocked it out of the park. A great experience. Well done Ricky!
This is the grill off the local golf club. The locals are very comfortable and unconstrained so the environment is not great to enjoy peacefully. The food is fine, but not restaurant quality. The servers are charming and well intentioned but overall you can pass on this one.
The fried green tomato appetizer was wonderful as well as the pimento cheese. Followed by 3 salads and fish & chips. The salmon salad said it contained asparagus but it was cut so tiny it was hard to tell...bigger chunks please! A hidden gem!
This is a golf shop restaurant. And maybe the best food in town. Recommended by our neighbors.

Waited a little long for any server to come over and start orders. Our waiter not very personable. Food was outstanding and the restaurant itself was great. They seemed very busy and not enough staff to accommodate. Wait on receiving food and drink was quite long.
Terrible service. Not enough staff. The manager tried to help but it was still bad service. Had to send back a burger that looked like it was cut in half and placed on the bun. Only one of the two we ordered looked this way.
Overall this was a good choice. Food was good and they have good drink choices also. Service started well but then staff seemed overwhelmed and it lagged a little. I'd still recommend it if you're in HHI.
We are what I would consider "regulars" and Lagerhead never disappoints. We were having a celebratory lunch and Chris came over to extend his best wishes. The staff is so friendly, and this place is truly a neighborhood treasure.
Ordered some appetizers and drinks. The barbecued pork nachos were drenched in sweet sauce so the only flavor was the sauce. Deep fried artichokes were mostly breading leaving us searching for the artichokes. Small chopped salad had way too much dressing. My blackberry mule was delicious my husband's wine was undrinkable. Service was great!
