The place is decked out with cool mushroom lights and other decor that give a 70s feel, but current.
The food is amazing. My husband had the house special pizza and loved it.
I have a long list of things I cannot eat. I was able to eat a tasty dairy, beef, soy, gluten and garlic free pizza. There is garlic in the pizza sauce, so instead they put the vegan cheese on the crust, then added black olives, Applewood bacon,
spinach, basil and tomatoes on top. Yum!
I knew to order it this way from a previous experience years ago with an employee that helped me make it work. The employees on this visit got the job done but being pleasant seemed difficult for them. Hopefully it was an "off" day.

Best pizza ever!!!!!! It’s really the best of the best! So well made absolutely delicious!!!! It’s my first time visiting Hilton head and OMG!!!! unbelievable exquisite ! And ask for Jessica! She was awesome!!! What a great experience!!!!!!!

Been coming to HHI for 20 years and Mellow Mushroom has always been our go-to pizza shop. In the last couple years there's been a noticeable decline in both the quality of food and the service.
Ordered for take out at 530pm, told it would be ready for 630pm, sat around till 730pm waiting for it..... Disappointing to say the least.
Pizza was not as disappointing as the service, but not great.

We ordered delivery from mellow mushroom tonight. I cannot eat red sauce or tomatoes. I ordered my pizza as I usually order it and they covered it in red sauce. I couldn’t eat my food and they closed by the time I went to try to order again. Very disappointing.
Just got door dashed a large mellow mushroom pizza and it was terrible. Pizza is half cooked, the crust is still raw, can’t even lift the pizza without everything falling off. Cheese bread was atleast cooked and good
On vacation at HHI. Tried Mellow Mushroom for the first time. Will not be our last time as their Build Your Own Pizza was awesome. Highly recommended.
