On of the best views on Broad Creek. Great food and atmosphere. Great for big groups and or a couples evening.

The place had really good food. It was a little too expensive for what it was.

On a September afternoon at 3pm you can get the best seats in the house! We enjoyed being able to look out over the bay while we ate our lunch. We would have loved to sit outside but the weather was not cooperating. Raw oysters were half price between 2-4. (We were there in a Monday), they were fresh and delicious. It was fun tasting different ones, especially for half price! The seafood chowder was delicious. Creamy and seasoned well. The peel and eat shrimp were a huge disappointment. Although easy to peel, they were a little mushy and had zero flavor and seasoning. So disappointing at a seafood place on the water where seafood is their specialty. It sort of ruined the whole meal for me. Also had the BBQ bacon shrimp appetizer. Very good but what could be bad about bacon and bbq sauce! For a recap, for two of us, we had 2 beers, seafood chowder, 1/2 lb peel and eat shrimp, a dozen oysters, and the bbq bacon shrimp appetizer. $95. In my personal opinion it was not worth it. But maybe we just chose the wrong thing on the menu. One last note. We ordered from the lunch menu, which had very limited seafood selections on it, which was also disappointing. 4 stars was mostly for ambience.

Food and venue are great, but drinks served in over sized plastic cup were not good. Same as their Fishcamp restaurant. Makes them have little taste.

Dining at The Old Oyster Factory was like starring in a low-budget sitcom called “The Waiting Game.” Our server, who looked like she was still practicing for her high school yearbook photo, was sweet but slower than a Lowcountry crab napping in the sun. We ordered the calamari appetizer—chewy enough to audition as a spare tire—and asked her to come back for our main order. Big mistake. We were halfway through wrestling that rubbery squid before she resurfaced, possibly after mapping the stars out back.
The seafood platter hit the table with enough grease to fuel a monster truck. It was meh, like a diner dish that forgot what flavor was. My friend paid the price, bolting for a bathroom 20 minutes after we left—pro tip: if you’ve got post-lunch plans, pencil in an emergency restroom stop. The staff didn’t pre-bus a single thing, so we played plate Tetris, stacking our calamari dishes on the side like we were auditioning for a busboy gig. Oh, and we ran out of water before we finished, leaving our glasses drier than a Hilton Head sand dune. The waterfront view was the only MVP, carrying this place like a lifeguard hauling a sinking ship. Come for the scenery, but bring a water bottle, some patience, and maybe some Pepto-Bismol.

Awesome oysters! Other items were good too, but the slaw was a little too sweet.

Had reservation and seated right away, however, the hostess was usurped by another group insisting on our seats, no worries, we were seated in better seats on the water. One couple ordered the seafood tower and we're very pleased with it. I had a very good salmon dish. Service was fine, atmosphere great as sunset as we were eating. I'd dine there again .

I was extremely impressed with this place. From the time our party of 5 was seated until we received the check was just over an hour. The server, drinks, food and atmosphere were all 10/10.

Called to place a pickup order at 7:40pm on Friday night; the woman who picked up said, “no, we are too busy”. We called back Saturday afternoon to ask if we could place a pickup order for later that evening. The woman said call back later when we wanted to place an order and reassured us they could accept an order well before close. We called back Saturday evening only to be hung up on.

I have never left a review for a restaurant, but felt it was necessary for ownership to be aware of turned away business. My husband and I were visiting for the weekend, and will be sure to give our business where it’s welcomed when we return.

The location is beautiful..only wish the food and service were as well. Ordered the spicy tuna app which was good and from there was all downhill. I ordered the fried seafood platter and they brought the wrong dish all then once the correct dish finally arrived it was all room temp not warm at all. The plate was 2/3 French fries. My husband had the swordfish and it was the thickness of a smash burger. After tracking the server down to get me hot food as she was standing in corner talking with another employee I finally went to find a manager and he just sent another server over.. did not even listen to what the concerns were. I am not normally one to avoid a restaurant due to bad service reviews...but I would avoid this restaurant in the future for sure
