It's pricey, but the food was fantastic! Halibut was sooo delicious and the chicken parm special was tender and delish too! Very attentive staff. Our server, Jodi, was outstanding!

Long term customer of Umbra’s.Made a reservation for dinner directly with the restaurant. The woman who made the reservation repeated the time and day I requested twice. When I got there they did not have any reservation for the day 3/16 @5:30 or any day either earlier or in the future. In other words the reservationist never recorded anything.

Our food was amazing. Decent portions for the price. I don’t remember our servers name but he was very very slow. I’m a waitress myself, I was very disappointed especially since this place was more fine dining/upscale. We sat at 7:09 , our server came a few minutes later and gave us water and got our drink order. Came back with our drinks and didn’t list the specials or ask if we were ready to order. We saw him outside atleast 4-5 times before he came back to our table. We ordered our food at 7:35 because we were waiting for him. Our food came out and we had no silverware. We asked the buss boy for parmesan and then waited another five minutes for our server to bring parmesan and utensils. Very disappointed in our experience and won’t be coming back.

Unfortunately, this place is a hard pass going forward. I have been coming to the island for years and have never been, so we thought we would give it a try. There are so many good places to eat on the island but for us this place wasn't one of them. We had two orders of the chicken milanese and one of the halibut specials. The food lacked any flavor what so ever. One of the chicken dishes was so burnt that it had to be redone. As a curtoursy, we gave the restaurant a call and let Luigi know. He apologized and said that sometimes the kitchen can get to backed up, and things like that can happen. Well, maybe it happens to you once, but it won't happen again.

Obviously the best Italian food on Hilton Head Island. Service was definitely high end but more than that the food was amazing. Veal cooked to perfection and pastas were unbelievable! Ate there twice while vacationing and can’t wait to return next year. This is by far the best restaurant in Hilton Head hands down !!

One of our favorites on HHI for Italian fare. The noise level in this crowded establishment makes it almost impossible to enjoy your meal. The veal sausage is spectacular, it's a must. All the pasta options are tops and the pear salad is excellent. Over the last year we had two unfortunate dining experiences and the most recent was the worst. We opted to sit at the bar because ombra is typically noisy. From the beginning with a loud female patron at one end and the loud and overbearing guy one seat down from us it was impossible to have a pleasant dinner. The man was loud and never stopped talking. He had finished dinner but continued to drink and converse with his friend next to me. Once the F word began it never stopped. Every sentence included an F exclamation. Nonstop. Ombra management needs to react to this type of behavior. This last visit was awful. We understand noise levels are not always consistent and controllable by management but the lack of addressing certain behavior should be. If you are looking for a pleasant dining experience this is not the place. The food and staff are great and its a successful restaurant and always full with patrons. But the overall crowded dining rooms create problems. We enjoy conversation with dinner. It's tough to get this at Ombra. It's our second noise complaint in the last four visits. We recommend outside dining in season and take away for everything else. The meal is not worth the potential uncomfortable atmosphere.

Made early bird reservation while watching Darius Rucker Invitational because Ombra was close by. My only criticism has to do with their pricing. Happy hour cocktails for $18 each!

Our server, Josh, was great and gave us good recommendations. The food was delicious and well prepared. Could use a bit more creativity, especially on the sides, but people love classic Italian.

We had a table for 4 and some ordered early dining and some ordered from the regular menu. Extensive wine list with lots of choices of “ by the glass”. Service was impeccable by Justin who had a vast knowledge of all items with a quick wit thrown in. Panzanella and salads were fresh and dressed perfectly. Pasta dishes were authentic ( to people who have been to Italy several times). We all said this was the best Italian restaurant we have tried so far this year!

Food was delicious, especially the ravioli. However, we did not feel special. The waiters did not seem to have time to chat. No one asked how our meals were. There was a very strong smell of Fabuloso floor cleaner, the minute we opened the front door.

Service and food amazing. We have years of experiences with a favorite server who was no longer there and we were delighted to meet our new friend Stephen who was spectacular. While everything was delish, everyone should try the scallop appetizer. WOW! I have traveled to HHI many times, been at this place many times, as a foodie I am never disappointed.

The food was delicious & the staff were very quick. Besides the hostess who whose kind, the rest of the staff were pretty rude & curt towards us. They acted as if they were going out of their way to serve us. My only thought as to why they could possibly be acting this way is because the restaurant was busy. However, the restaurant was not busy & had many open tables at 8:15pm on a Sunday evening. The staff that weren't directly helping us were constantly staring as they walked by & the server we had along with the servers who brought the food wouldn't even stay longer than a moment to ask us what we needed. We definitely felt as if we were being rushed & hurried along to finish our food & drinks. Again, rude & curt. Obviously they need proper training before serving people or maybe not be in the hospitality industry.

We went for my husband's birthday. We were treated to a complimentary glass of prosecco! The calamari app was tender, hot, lightly breaded and accompanied by a red sauce with a little bite. So good. We had spaghetti and clam sauce and the chicken Zangara. Both were presented beautifully and were delicious. We had a dry Belvedere martini and a Cosmo. They were perfect. We spent just under 2 hours there and Matt was the most attentive and personable server. It was thumbs up all around.
