The dinner was fantastic. GK was our server and she took care of us like we were family. The music was awesome. There seem to be some new band members that added a new vibe to the group.
Our waiter was simply an order taker who had minimal interaction with us or showed any personality whatsoever. She and the bus staff, who frequently floated through the room, never made eye contact, resulting in my husband having to call out to stop one of them to get us some black pepper and a lemon wedge for my $44. scallops, which were quickly growing cold. (Who serves fish without a lemon wedge?) The scallops were good but didn't have that crusty sear that makes restaurant scallops so wonderful. My husband enjoyed his lobster and shrimp "burger". I wanted to get a dessert since we were celebrating my birthday, but the lackluster service was such a turnoff we decided to go elsewhere. (Why do you ask if we are celebrating a special occasion then not even mention it?). We did observe numerous locals getting enthusiastic treatment by the wait staff, even hugs to the couple next to us from our waiter. A little off putting. I know we are "just tourists", but we did spend $125 in our hour at the table. On the plus side, the band playing in the main room was great, especially the young man playing the bass. They were the highlight of our visit to Red Fish.
We throughly enjoyed our evening at Red Fish. The restaurant was lovely, all 4 dinners were great, and the live piano music was an unexpected delight. This was a 5 star experience!
This will become a place we come back to when vacationing at Hilton Head. We loved everything about this place. The food was so delicious. We were there on a Thursday evening when there was live music. The music was in the background so you could still have a conversation. Our kind of music...playing James Taylor, Van Morrison, etc. Our server, Petey, was excellent. He took great care of us. This was a five star experience.
Phenomenal evening! Was greeted at the front door with a complementary wine tasting of Neyers Winery. That was very cool. Dinner as always was fantastic and Stephanie took great care of us.
Scallops with Mac and cheese were outstanding. NY strip was initially overcooked but quickly replaced with perfectly prepared steak. Wine section provides great options for any palate and atmosphere was welcoming and enthusiastic.
Our first time at this upscale restaurant was not disappointing. From the moment you arrive, you can tell it's a special venue. The calamari appetizer was one of the best we've ever had....lightly breaded and lightly fried and tender. The sea bass (a restaurant specialty) met expectations. The bed of asian noodles it sat on complimented it well. Also, the wine selection may be the best on the island and the glass options were reasonably priced.
The music was excellent. Our server Laci, was the only one who could top it. She was incredible. Even though the restaurant was packed, she was well-versed in everything on the menu and had a lovely smile as she described everything. Whenever we needed anything, she was there for us.
Came back for the Shrimp/Lobster burger which was delicious, as usual. My friends had the Blackened Grouper and Shrimp & Grits, both enjoyed their choices, as well as the special Fried Green Tomatoes with Burrata. The Frozen Twinkie bar was yummy..... At first it was quiet - just before 7 - then it got so noisy it was hard to carry on conversation, followed by quieter again - a bit after 8 - as other diners left.
It has been a few years since we dined at Red Fish, but this place is still wonderful. She had roasted Scottish Salmon, and for me it was Shrimp and Grits. Each was delicious. Service was just right...attentive without being overbearing. Live music added great ambiance, but we could still easily carry on a conversation. All in all, this is still one of Hilton Head's best places to eat!

We had a fabulous meal. Our server was Jenn and she was wonderful. Made our meal even better. Anniversary meal and we were stuffed so she sent us home w/Key Lime pie. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We miss the Bluffton Redfish but this is worth the drive.
Red Fish was a mixed experience, the food was good, but overpriced for what it was. The atmosphere is okay, but there is better food with better views for less on HHI. We went to celebrate a birthday. The hostess was lack-luster and half heartedly told us to "pick any table" from the ones outside - most of which were not ready (table cloth, napkins, etc). I reminded the hostess that we were celebrating a birthday and received an "ok". The waitress was nice enough, though not very attentive, we basically were forgotten outside. The bus boy had more personality. After reminding the restaurant a 3rd time, they finally acknowledged the birthday. The service offered definitely doesnt match the prices charged. We wont be going back.
We had the Goat cheese salad as a starter and Crab Cakes and Shrimp and Grits as main entree. The Crab Cakes were somewhat salty and the Shrimp and Grits were good. They had a musical group that was wonderful. Overall, good.
Great food, great service. It was everything you could ask for in a nice birthday celebration. I had the Lettuce wraps and the Scallops. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was amazing. It was our first time and now one of our favorite spots we have found since we moved here. Sad it took us a year to finally get there.
Outstanding meal and service! Ate here based upon customer reviews and we were not disappointed. The Chilean Sea Bass as well as the Coconut Shrimp were perfectly prepared. HIGHLY recommend!
