Excellent atmosphere with great entertainment. Food was 5star and professional and friendly staff. We will be back!
We were there for my birthday, the band was excellent, I got the ox tails I was disappointed with the taste, my husband had fried chicken and it was excellent! Customer service was excellent! ❤️
A great spot for an imitate and friendly dinner and a show. Even an opportunity for a little dancing to a great band.
I always enjoy Ruby Lees. I go every time I'm on the island. Cannot beat the vibe and food.
Ruby Lee's is one of our must stops when we come to Hilton Head for good entertainment and food. The owner, staff and entertainers always make sure we have a wonderful time. Will visit again on our next trip.
A bit of a conundrum. Known for fried chicken and ribs, as locals we thought we'd give this local spot a try. We went early, as we wanted to talk so were hoping to finish dinner before the live music began (it also bears an $11 pp cover charge). The exterior looks like a sandwich place, with a wooden deck on the parking lot. The small interior was more upscale than expected, with lit candles and real roses on each table. Relatively charming. The one server was lively and attentive. The menu was as expected, with a burger, chicken, ribs, fried pork chops etc and sides of fried okra, collards, coleslaw, etc. The prices were considerably higher than anticipated for this genre of food, with plates in the high $20s to $30s and some $40s. A surprising wine list with a dozen or so wines by the glass and bottles ranging in the $70-$100 ish range were offered. The beer list disappointed the men, with no Guinness, only one Yeungling left etc but Bud Light was available. The food varied in reviews: ribs good, fried chicken excellent, burger and pulled pork ok. All servings were generously sized. Service friendly and good. Overall an interesting experience, but we aren't likely to return.
We really enjoyed the Meal and the entertainment. I had the fried Chicken and it was delicious. My husband had the pork. It was the biggest piece of pork I ever saw on a plate and my husband gave me a bite and it was delicious! The entertainment was wonderful. I would recommend going when the Ross band was playing. It was our first time there but it won't be our last!!!
This was a nice cozy spot. Food was flavorful and presentation was excellent. The live music was a great addition to the evening.
The live band was great (there is an entertainment surcharge on your bill). The food was average but what was crazy is that the restaurant open at 5pm our reservation was at 7pm and they were already out of mac & cheese and oxtails.
Great spot! Chavelle was so kind and accommodating. The staff was friendly and Stee was great!

We love coming here! Great live music, great service. Delicious food. Always a great time.
Every time we vaca on Hilton Head Island we always put Ruby Lee's on our "go to" list for dinner and entertainment. We love the down home Southern dinner lounge with a mom & pop feel. The food is delicious, made to order, the service is good and the waitresses are lots of fun with great genuine personalities! We had a great time and the small band was amazing too! They'll see us again on our next visit probably in February 2026 and perhaps in the Fall too! Ruby Lee's will always be on our dinning list!!
The food was simply amazing!! We had to go back and compliment the chef. I haven't had fried chicken like that since my Mom passed (don't tell my wife). The veggies and mac and cheese were also to die for. In addition the band was fantastic! Most everyone was on the dance floor during/after dinner and a great time was had by all. On my list for all return visits.
Food was decent, but I thought it was better last year. Perhaps the cooks changed. My green beans tasted like they were out of the can and seasoned with too much pepper. My yams were not cooked throughly. The sauce with the salmon was too salty. Waitress was not friendly. No rapport. Price is a good value.
Went on a Saturday night, SPECIFICALLY in search of great live music and vibes to dance/sing in...
This establishment offers homie insides, with sports paraphernalia and photos of incredible athletes of our time.
You may have to sit with strangers who quickly feel like past life friends (especially once the drinks start hitting).
Ruby Lee's provides a sense of coziness combined with tasty food, but personally, the live music levels up the entire experience.
Staff was welcoming and hospitable.
The food and drinks were pretty good (crab balls & fried okra).
Reservations are highly recommended otherwise, be prepared for a bit of a wait time.
This place gets a 10 out of 10. From my experience, it felt like a safe haven for the soul *** live music & ambiance (engaged audience & lively band) did it for me. *You can't capture the true vibes via video, you've got to be in the moment to take in the greatness.
*FYI: Be aware there is an $11.00 entertainment fee, it's also noted on the menu. I can appreciate paying musicians equitably for the talent they bring.
Cheers*
