Came here with a group of 10 family members at the beginning of October. We had a fantastic time! The food was amazing, best fried chicken I’ve ever had and the sides were awesome too, the candied yams were something special! Sports + family + great food + awesome live music + drinks = 10/10 experience. Our waitress was a sweetheart as well. Still craving the food a month later!

I came here to celebrate my birthday. I had reservations, and when I arrived, I was seated directly next to the door. There were other seats in the restaurant available. I couldn't understand why I was sitting next to the door when there were other seats available. The temperature was chilly tonight as well. My wife had to eat with her coat on. I was also charged a $11 a person entertainment fee. If I had sat outside, would I have been charged that fee. As close as I was to the door, I should have sat outside. I drought my dessert home in a container. When I looked at it, the bananas were looking black. Pictures are attached.

The whole atmosphere was great! Great service, great live music and great food. The food and drinks are a little pricey, and they also add in a live entertainment fee of 11 dollars. However the food was worth the price. Piping hot and very flavorful. Live jazz band was wonderful. And it was a di erse group of people here. Absolutely love! I will definitely be making this a regular spot.
The entertainment, host(owner), waitress, food and atmosphere was an awesome experience. I highly recommend that you check this spot out. Hats off to Ross & Ross Band.

The wife and I were visiting from out of town. The hotel staff recommended 3 "popular" places to eat. We did not enjoy the food at the first two places and had low hopes for this. This place was AMAZING! Loved the atmosphere, the food was amazing and the service was great! Please get a reservation. I had the steak while my wife had the oxtails. The steak was great and each of the last few pieces tasted better and better. The yams melted in my mouth, the greens were great. Patty was a treasure.

I visited this place with family because we wanted to support a black owned Jazz spot we were in Hilton Head on a family vacation. Sadly, we were treated disrespectfully by the owner who pulled my cousin outside away from the group saying he smelled weird. Stereotyping his appearance by assuming it was him. We were offended but my mom decided we should stay anyway. After that there were many food mix ups, and my aunts were disrespected and called elderly by the waitress. The food was mediocre. I liked my catfish but the Mac and cheese was generic, they gave us cut up piece of cornbread for us all to share and when we asked for more they said it was $3 for extra. The greens tasted like Glory greens, and the beer was watered down. The service was poor, food was mediocre. All in all there was 15 of us so they made their money from us but we’d never go back or recommend it to anyone. We should’ve walked out after the first incident. It be your own ppl.
My husband and I were referred to this place by the hotel desk clerk and I owe him BIG time! This gem is a small quaint spot filled with culture, ambience, music and amazing food. Did I say the food was amazing? Yes, it was. I went there thinking I was going to order the oxtails and my husband had made up in his mind he was going to order the steak. I was still unsure until the couple next to us got their food and the aroma of the oxtails hit my nose! I was sold! I ordered the oxtails with collard greens. My husband ordered the steak with collards and yams. Oh MY GOD! 10/10. Best oxtails I have ever tasted. The yams I shared with my husband taste like I was eating a sweet potato pie. Hands down my best meal while in Hilton Head Island. Miss Patty is amazing and also one of the best parts of this amazing place. You cannot visit Hilton Head without visiting Ruby Lee’s.

My husband and I decided to visit from Charleston,Sc for a date night. This is my second time here and I’m always pleased with everything. The food was amazing, the service was good and the atmosphere was nice as well. We were a little disappointed because the band was a no show but they did have music playing so that was fine.
Parking: Parking lot is well lit and enough parking spaces for the number of people who were there while we were there.

We went to Ruby Lee's last night for the first time in a few years. It's always been one of my favorite places in Hilton Head. I'm so glad they reopened.
We usually go for the great music and last night did not disappoint. They had a great band called Voodoo Soup, we'll, they were fantastic. I would love to see them again.
Our waitress was just darling, we could not ask for better service.
I had the pulled pork and it was full of flavor and the sides of Mac and cheese and Cole slaw were good as well.

I came here based upon a recommendation of a friend and let me tell you, this place delivered! Between the live band, who were phenomenal, to the great food and vibes of the place, it really made for an eventful evening. Now, when first pulling up, I will admit, I thought the place was going to be bigger and not in the cut, but this is what adds to its appeal. As my friend and I didn't have reservations, we ended up sitting at the bar. I noticed that this place fills up quickly, so for the future, I would definitely make reservations so we are sitting at a table. We started off with some drinks and ordered fried green tomatoes to start. The fried green tomatoes were prepared differently than what we were expecting, but they were good! The breading to tomato ratio was perfect, it wasn't overly greasy and surprisingly the cheese added a new flavor element to that dish. I ended up getting grilled shrimp with zucchini succotash and Mac and cheese and my friend got fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens. I thought my shrimp was excellent! It was well seasoned and not overly cooked. I liked the zucchini succotash, as it had a ton of garlic and I thought the Mac and cheese was ok. If the Mac and cheese had a tad bit more salt, it would have been great. My friend liked her fried chicken and her sides as well. All in all, this made for a fantastic evening! The great thing about this place is they have live music every week, which makes it stand out from other places in the area! For me, live music and great food always makes for a great time and the next time I'm in town, I will definitely have to stop by.
