Here at 5:30 and a ghost town... nothing letting you know whether to wait or leave... they are definitely working their way to a 1 star establishment

Very nice place. Food was delicious. A bit pricey for the amount of food you get. Overall enjoyed the scenery and food

Nice place, good music (not live but it was early) but the food leaves a lot to be desired. We first walked in and the hostess wasn't wearing a mask. We were seated and promptly greeted by the server who brought waters and took our beverage order as well as shared the nightly specials. I ordered a Strong Island Ice Tea and I'm very used to enjoying Long Island Ice Tea but this drink was undrinkable. We also ordered onion rings. While waiting on drinks and appetizer, a man, with his mask under his chin, brought out some cornbread muffins. They were dry and cold as if leftover and refrigerated from the night before. The onion rings came out and tasted like they were from frozen. We both ordered chicken & waffles for our entree and I ordered a side of mac n cheese. When the entrees came out, it didn't have the hot pepper syrup it is supposed to come with but our server brought that out quickly. Unfortunately the waffles seemed like toaster oven Belgian waffles and the chicken certainly didn't taste homemade but rather frozen tenders. The mac n cheese was cold like refrigerated glue with next to no flavor. The only reason this review gets 2 stars is our server. She was so kind and attentive.

I was celebrating my birthday weekend and I left the last spot after 9:30p and was told that I could go to this place and they will still be open. When I got there the music was fabulous there was a huge crowd the drinks were great and there was this band or singing group that was out of this world. I strongly suggest you go there if you want to have a good time with a good atmosphere and good people.

The best collard greens and fried pork chop I've ever had. We were here for New Year's and even though Hoppin Jon's was not a menu item tonight, they were more than happy to accommodate. I wish I'd gotten our waiters name, he was very pleasant, and didn't mind telling us a little about places on the island. If I come back to Hilton Head, Ruby Lee's is first on my list!

DO NOT COME HERE! My girlfriend and I were visiting Hilton Head for her Birthday and decided to go to Ruby Lee’s for dinner and live music. The food was okay, the live music was excellent and people were dancing. The owner Tim spoke to us about 3 times asking how we like the place, what do you think of the food, how are your drinks. One of those times I told him “we love the place and I just left you a great review”. I’ve since deleted this review. After speaking to us several times throughout the night I leave the bar for the restroom and Tim (owner) immediately walks up to my girlfriend and says “has anyone ever told you that you are a perfect 10” to which she replied “well my boyfriend tells me all the time”. She said he left not really knowing what to say. She told me right when I returned saying she felt like his actions were rude and disrespectful. To wait until I left and approach her with “has anyone ever told you...” while it was obvious we were together he didn’t compliment her at all while I was there. You would assume the guy she’s with has told her that. We closed out our $140 tab and I approached him and told him “his actions were rude and disrespectful to approach her with that comment right after I walked away.”. I reminded him of the previous review I left and that he still decided to hit on my girlfriend. He wanted to apologize to her and I said that would be great. Then I can’t believe what this man said to her “I’m sorry you took what I said the wrong way”. Wow. This is not an apology. We are smart people, he knew what he was doing. I told a lady named Ms. Patti this entire story before his apology and apparently she is his aunt. She didn’t say this but I got the feeling that she wasn’t surprised. Moral of the story, if you are attracted to you significant other there’s a good chance that Tim will be too so don’t come here or at the very least don’t leave her at the seat alone. Told him I was changing my review so here it is and thanks for reading.

By far the best soul food in Hilton Head. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff entertained us with southern charm. Ruby Lee's is a must stop in Hilton head.

We have been wanting to go here to try this black-owned restaurant on Hilton Head. The food was good, with typical Southern sides. However, the prices were very expensive. We went early, so luckily we didn't have to pay the fee for the live band which is now $10 per person. That surcharge on top of the cost of the food makes this just a one time visit for us.

I love this place !!! This is my 4th time here!! The live band is always great and the food is delicious!! I'm from Atlanta so I love the music and the hometown feel with the delicious food and great music. The staff and owner are always friendly !!! Thanks for a great time always when I visit!!

The food was okay but the portions were definitely on the light side. I had a cup (more like a kid's teacup) of the gumbo. It was good but not great. I also had the fried catfish with the green beans and baked beans. The fish was tasty but once again a small portion. The beans were good but the green beans were only okay. They had some live music and so they added an $8 entertainment surcharge. With tip, the meal came to $44 (I had just water) while my friend's bill came to over $50. I understand it is Hilton Head but was not worth it for the $.

I was treated for my birthday here. We arrived around 6pm. Got our table and drinks. We sat outside because it wasn't cold. The food was good. I had the Ruby's salad and my date had the catfish with fries and mac'n cheese. The live entertainment was the best part of the experience though. The guy that sang really knew what the crowd would move to and we did. He has a wonderful voice. I would definitely visit again.

This was our first time - the entertainment was really good. Our food was really good - we had the 3 piece fried chicken with 2 sides. So yummy! Our food service was a little slow and took a little longer than we would have liked to get our bill to pay. Side note: We had no idea we were going to get a $8 each entertainment fee - that came as a little surprise but I will say we truly did enjoy the entertainment so it was worth it.
