I had great gluten free chicken tenders. I am super sensitive and did not have any issues. The staff were great as well.

They have a delicious salad bar and the clam chowder is amazing!!! The staff was wonderful and sweet! I also met the owner while she was out walking the dining room,something you don't see enough of lately. I highly recommend!!!

Our experience, unfortunately, was not a good one despite having a great waitress who did her best. We visited yesterday and ordered the prime rib special, requesting it medium rare. The cook came out to let us know that only end pieces remained, which would be more of a medium cook. While not ideal, we appreciated the communication and agreed to proceed. However, what was brought out was not medium it was extremely well done and difficult to even cut. We let our waitress know, and she kindly offered to replace the meal. We ordered the ribeye instead, which did taste good. That said, by the time it arrived, the rest of our family had already finished eating, and we were left waiting. When the bill came, we were charged full price for the ribeye and sides. Given the situation, I asked to speak to the owner, as I felt a discount would have been appropriate. Rather than coming to speak with us, the owner relayed through the waitress that they had already "accommodated" us and claimed other restaurants wouldn’t have done the same. To be clear: fixing a poorly cooked meal isn’t a favor it’s simply the right thing to do. Mistakes happen, and that’s understandable. But placing the blame back on the customer is unacceptable. Sadly, based on this experience and the way it was handled, we won’t be returning.

If you have high cholesterol, avoid at all costs. Even the healthiest option (the egg white omelet) was greasy. Otherwise fun southern spot!

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. My wife ordered her steak medium rare, but it arrived noticeably undercooked—cold in the center and difficult to chew. She didn’t bother sending it back, which probably says enough on its own.

The vegetables on the side weren’t much better. They tasted like they had been microwaved—soft, bland, and lacking any real flavor.

For the price point, we expected much better. The quality just wasn’t there, and we won’t be returning.

We did think our waitress did great though.

Service was horrible !!
Sat there for 15 mins before I was acknowledged. Ordered my drink and food immediately upon being acknowledged. Waited 30 mins for two eggs and hash and the server tried serving me a recycled draft beer that I watched him pull out of the beer cooler.

Amazing food! Best lightly breaded fried shrimp I’ve eaten in a LONG time. The sweet potatoes were great, as well. Highly recommend!

We have been coming to HHI for the last 10 years and Skillets would be our go to for an early breakfast before heading to the beach. We love the potatoes! Unfortunately our last two trips to Skillets (September 2023 and May 2025) has not been the same as earlier trips, notably the service has been terrible. The waitresses don’t check on you once the food arrives, assuming the order is actually correct. Instead they can be seen on their phones in the drunk station. There are other restaurants that have too-notch service that we will be going to instead.

Skillets is absolutely amazing! From the food to the beautiful ambience. Our waitress Marilyn was so kind and attentive. I had the Mahi tacos. They were the best I've ever had. There chef Keman cooked everything to perfection. All of the toppings were homemade. Love that place!

Food and service are pretty good. They are constantly ready to remove used plates, cups.
I prefer a little less interruptions when dining.

It was an excellent place to eat that served up one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Wonderful, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. It's a nice cherry to go on top of a memorable trip.
