Skull Creek Dockside

The scenery and views are why you go to this restaurant not for the food. We came for sunset and we were not disappointed with our outdoor table. The service was great and fast. We got drinks, appetizers and the seafood platter with shrimp, scallops, oysters and fish. The scallops were the star of the plate quickly followed by the shrimp. The platter was fried, so when I say it was greasy it sounds silly but it wasn't crunchy fried. The fish was rectangle in shape and was the least interesting thing on the plate (and it didn't get finished) - and I like fish! All of the seafood was somewhat bland and seemed to have no real flavor to it. Of all the places we ate while in Hilton Head this was our least favorite. Whomp whomp.

Great outdoor eating experience. Good food and beautiful scenery. Having a reservation is the way to go or could have a long wait.

The service was just ok. Our server wasn't really into it. The seafood tower was not very tasty. Lots of (difficult to) peel and eat shrimp. Less than a spoonful of lobster salad with tons of mayo. Great view but I would label Skull Creek as a less than average tourist trap.

Skull Creek is AMAZING! We had 7 kids with us and 4 adults and we had an amazing time! The kids got to play while the adults enjoyed dinner! All in all I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could! The food was AMAZING and the atmosphere was exceptional! Family friendly, kid and adult approved!

Excellent dinner and service. Our waiter Nick was top notch!

The food was wonderful! Brandon, our waiter, was very personable and welcoming. The food was fantastic! Atmosphere was just ok, we had hoped to sit on the patio but were told they were all reserved. The patio tables sat empty our entire visit there. The view of the water from inside was nothing special.

The food is just great. I had the jumbo shrimp cocktail. The red seafood chowder and a combo entree with a crab cake, 3 seared scallops and 2 stuffed shrimp. A friend had a smoked barbeque combo with ribs and chicken. The rib smoke was excellent and very tender. The waitress was excellent. You definitely need a reservation between 5 to 630. When we left at 6pm the wait line was out the door.

Parking: Parking lot was huge. It services 2 restaurants. At 430 it was at 30%. At 6pm it was full.

We visited, a group of 7, this March and had conflicting thoughts. We enjoyed our apps, the calamari and shrimp, but all of our entrees were very subpar for the price. The Mac and Cheese was delicious, but everyone was disappointed in their seafood and chicken dishes. The best part about our meal though was Chris, who delivered our food to us and fixed a drink issue. He was nothing but kind and an absolute pleasure to talk to. The overall experience was increased by his willingness to serve and cater to our experience. Overall, nice service and appetizers, but entrees were lacking!

Highly recommend this restaurant. The location was magically. The food was of a high quality. The manager stopped by to check on us & we noticed he seemed omnipresent
