South End Seafood

We popped in here on a whim. We weren’t feeling up to a restaurant meal and just wanted some steamed shrimp to take back to the hotel. We arrived about 45 min before they closed. The sweet lady said they just sold the last of the steamed shrimp for the day but she said if we wanted to come back she would take care of us. Well she did just that and boy were they were perfect tasty morsels.
That my friends is customer service times 100.

Fresh fish and shrimp and more. We got superp swordfish steaks and grouper, both turned out wonderful.

A great place to find really fresh fish and shrimp! We go when ever we come to town. We buy some fish and cook it on our hotel room. Good fish is not cheap but it is a lot less expensive than going out to dinner and having the same thing.

Some of the best fresh seafood. Owner is so friendly and knowledgeable. Have been 3x just in past week - that’s how impressed we are!!

If you are in search for sushi grade salmon this is the place. Absolutely amazing!!!

Incredible experience! We were “out of towners” on vacation and the workers we dealt with (the owners?) were so knowledgeable on the fish selection and able to answer our questions with ease. They were so pleasant, patient, and welcoming. We had our 2 year old with us, who was having the time of her life with the noise making plushies, and they let her have one “on the house” 😭 the sweetest gesture ever. The seafood we purchased was so fresh, and absolutely delicious this experience will forever be cemented in my head. Also, the convenience of having sides, breading, and seasoning options here really made it a one stop shop!

We did a seafood boil tonight. South End had everything for the boil, seasoning, extra large shrimp, snow crab legs, corn, potatoes, butter, cocktail sause and they even had a pot to rent! You can't go wrong!!! Highly recommend!

We were visiting from out of town, excited to get some really fresh seafood, and South End delivered! They have a great selection including spices and breading. The staff is friendly, helpful, and has a good sense of humor. We will definitely be returning to take something home in the cooler!

Local resident here ... South End is the best seafood market on the island. Some items are almost aways available while others rotate depending on what's being caught off the Carolina coast. Owners and staff are very accommodating. We get fish there probably three times a week (year round).

We are from Minnesota and have been buying fresh local fish and seafood from Dondi and staff for the past 5 years or so... always fresh and Dondi is always smiling.
