The Crazy Crab - Harbour Town

I recently visited The Crazy Crab in Harbour Town with my family. The food was actually quite good and the atmosphere was pleasant, but unfortunately, our dining experience was ruined by the poor service.

Our server was rude and clearly disinterested. She acted like our presence was a bother and didn’t offer even basic courtesy. I don't remember her name exactly but she introduced her as roosy or rusy and she is wearing the glasses. Despite this, we didn’t want to ruin the mood for our family outing, so we still left a 15% tip. Shockingly, she took the check without a word of thanks and just walked away.

It was a disappointing experience overall. I hope the restaurant takes this kind of service seriously, as it reflects poorly on an otherwise enjoyable.I hope management provides proper service training so that future guests can enjoy not just the food, but the overall experience as well.

I’ll start with the positives—overall, the food was solid, about an 8 out of 10. The fried gator, baked crab dip, and seafood platter were excellent. On the downside, the French fries were disappointing, and my daughter’s mac and cheese tasted like Easy Mac. Side item portions were embarrassing. Slaw was a 3oz soufflé cup halfway full. Maybe two bites.

The restaurant itself felt run down. The server station next to us was dirty and overflowing with dishes, and there were holes in the ceiling where light fixtures used to be. The bathrooms weren’t clean either.

At one point, my wife caught our server and mentioned it was our daughter’s birthday. The server said she’d do something special, and later brought out a dessert while several tables joined in to sing—clearly something she coordinated, which was a nice touch.

What wasn’t so nice: the $9 charge for the birthday dessert. I didn’t expect it to be free, but we weren’t told it would be added to the bill, and we certainly didn’t order it. That left a bad taste at the end of an otherwise decent meal.

Good Food but pricey 😉

Don’t make reservations. They don’t mean anything.

Dynamite shrimp is chefs kiss. My husband loved the ribs. Don't get the hush puppies if you like texture. We like crunch. We weren't a fan. Super nice staff!!! Love viewing the harbor with a/c!

We loved Crazy Crab. We were a party of 6 and most got the crab & lobster boils. I got the blackened grouper and loved it. Of course the location is great. It’s a must visit.

Amazing fresh seafood for a good price! We had fried shrimp and blackened mahi! It was delicious and the service was outstanding! This rates top of the list!

We came to crazy crab and was lucky enough to have Susan as our waitress. Susan is the greatest waitress I’ve had at any restaurant ever. She makes sure we get our food in a reasonable time and we don’t stay thirsty. I would give susan a 100/10 on service and I think she needs a raise.

You can never go wrong at The Crazy Crab.

Tried to get a reservation. The place is half full at best. Hour wait. Closes at 9pm not 10pm like hours say. We arrived at 715. Hostess was rude. Service could be better.

The staff here was extremely unfriendly especially the hostess who seemed annoyed we were there asking to be seated outside. They said no we couldn’t sit outside so we ordered takeout instead. It took 40 minutes for a takeout order with maybe 10 other people in the whole restaurant. Our food was cold when we got it.

Another Great. We only go when we know Kim, and amazing server and now friend, is working. Food is always great. Kim's service is amazing. Crab legs are always on point! Kim always makes sure we are taken care of and anticipates our every need! She's partly the reason we go back over and over!!!
