The food was just ok, nothing special. I’ve definitely had better. Had the farmers omelette and husband the salmon crepe. He felt the same. What bring this review down to 3⭐️ for me is the owners lack of customer service around a charging issue. Seems their payments system puts a larger hold than should be on charges which happened to us. I went back to resolve it (~$12) and she had me sit with her while she called Toast who does their CC payments. When a customer has an issue fix it and let them be done! They are likely on vacation and don’t want to deal with it. While I appreciate she was trying to resolve the issue why did I have to waste 15-20m of my life?! Time is way more precious than money!! It’s obvious to me she doesn’t understand customer service therefore I will NEVER dine here again and I will share my experience with everyone asking for HHI food recommendations. Too many great places in HHI to deal with this. Try Jane Bistro very close to here instead! The food and service is top notch!!

Wow, what a great place! Dessert and coffee for breakfast while on vacation! Expensive but worth it. I am going back before I head home! Highly recommended!

Stopped in for a muffin and coffee to go. $14. Thought we could just sit outside at their tables to enjoy the treat but hostess (long dark hair, didn’t catch name) came out to chastise us for sitting out front. Said if she allowed us to do that everyone would want to.(What does that even mean???? We bought food from them.) Made us feel like children being scolded. And meanwhile it’s cloudy & 52 degrees out. NO ONE is eating outside. Won’t be back. You make your customers feel unwelcome.

Every time we come to visit this is my one place I demand we eat at for breakfast! I love their quiche, crepes, French toast, fresh squeezed OJ, and of course all of the delightful bakery options! I love it all-the music, decor, food selection. The staff and service has also really picked up and been the best it has ever been (that we’ve experienced) over the last two years! We’ve been coming since 2016. Highly recommend if there’s ever a wait!

My wife and I visited the The French Bakery in Shelter Cove on March 18, 2024. It was our first visit, and we stopped specifically to get desserts to take home. My wife selected a slice of Carrot Cake, and I selected a triangle slice of crust encased Cheesecake with a raspberry center. The Cheesecake crust also had a chocolate coating on two sides. Carrot Cake is my wife's favorite dessert. She has sampled this dessert in many locations during our numerous trips. This serving of Carrot Cake was so bad that my wife couldn't finish the slice. This was so unusual that I tasted the remainder of the slice. The cake was terribly course, and tasteless. The icing was the consistency of mashed wet marshmallows without the sweetness. Then I tasted the Cheesecake. The crust was absolutely tasteless. The two sides of the crusts coated with chocolate were so hard it was nearly impossible to slice with a fork, and the taste was very bitter. The cheesecake was also tasteless. The only dessert taste present was the small dollop of raspberry. Both of us were left with terrible aftertaste in our mouths. Topping off the horrible tasting desserts was the cost of $23. The sum of the experience was a total loss of time and money. We will never return. As locals, we will share our horrible experience within our community organizations.

I recently dined at this establishment and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The quality of the food was below standard, with my salmon sandwich leaving me feeling unwell the next day, indicating possible issues with food safety and freshness. Additionally, the service was lacking, and the constant noise from cleaning activities made it difficult to enjoy the meal. What's more concerning is the passive-aggressive behavior exhibited by the owner towards customers, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Overall, I cannot recommend this place based on my experience.

The lunch was good but the eggclairs were hard and lacked taste. We are so disappointed with the negative response to our request to obtain a credit for these hard and tasteless eggclaires after all they were over $5. each and we ordered 2 for each of us Party of 4. We ended tossing them. Won’t be going

The food was really good. I think We all enjoyed the crab cakes, omelette, French toast, and coffee. The service was not so great. I think we ended up waiting 20+ minutes for a check and I couldn’t find our waitress after our food was delivered, so I asked several people to get me a check and they never did. At that point I was pretty frustrated. We also never got refills, which was an irritating. I wanted more coffee and we wanted more tea. I would totally leave 5 stars if service had been better. It started off fine, but ended on a sour note. I Wouldn’t go back, or recommend it unless you enjoy that kind of service for a $100 bill. You can get same quality of food with better service at many other places, which is sad because we Liked the food and the ambiance.

The quiche Lorraine with greens was delicious as well as the Greek omelette. The service was excellent as exhibited by our waiter Nick. Very personable and anxious to be of help. He waited on us the day before when we ate their scrumptious chicken salad and was quick to recognize us and make us feel like old acquaintances. Very well managed place.

We stopped in for brunch on Sunday. We were planning to go somewhere else but the French Bakery looked so inviting that we changed our plans. The atmosphere is attractive and relaxing. There were so many yummy looking items on the menu that I couldn't decide, so I ordered both quiche and crepes, figuring I could save the leftovers. The service was wonderful. The hostess was friendly and helpful and our server (Katelyn) was amazing! When she arrived at the table with my crepes and I jokingly commented that I should have saved them for dessert- she offered to take my plate back into the kitchen keep it warm. Of course I couldn't finish all I ordered but she happily wrapped up our leftovers. I ate them the next day and they were still delicious.Dietary restrictions: My husband is gluten free but he found many good options. They didn't have any gluten free bread options (which was sad because their breads are wonderful) but they offered to sub extra fruit.

Every time we are in town we eat here but today was extremely different. A host/part owner Michelle was extremely rude. When we first walked in(my husband, two toddler boys, and me) her attitude made us feel like we were not welcomed and when she kept asking how many it was like she was skipping over my kids. Then puts us in a corner I guess to keep my babies out of the way. My mom came in saw the table and requested the table we always sit at but she said it was reserved (which was a lie). We then waited for someone to take our drinks and bring the high chair for at least 12 minutes. My mom then tried to complain to a manager and that’s when we found out Michelle was manager/part owner. At the end of the confrontation my mom asked for the high chair after which she told us we are not welcomed there because we were the rude ones LOL thankfully Nick came and saved the day. He served us promptly and made the experience a little better. But we will not be back. And if you keep reading the reviews it seems like a lot of people have a problem with this hostess. She also told us to please write a review so here it’s is Michelle hopefully you will start treating people better. Especially if you are part owner. I come from a family entrepreneurs and this was poor example on how to run a business. And to your reply this is not slander pull your cameras everything I said was truthfully. I even have witnesses. Thanks to the ladies sitting next to us.
