The Ice Cream Cone

First off, there are tons of amazing flavors to choose from. Secondly, they are very generous with their scoops. Lastly, there are cow puns all over the store with famous movie posters and album covers. We very much enjoyed our time here and would recommend to anyone looking for ice cream.

Great ice cream shop near Sea Pines! A huge variety of flavors to choose from- we especially loved the peanut butter caramel cookie dough flavor, but also really enjoyed the coconut, the oatmeal cookie and the fluorescent yellow cookie dough.

Great and friendly service in a fun, welcoming environment. Also, don’t miss the wall of giant sharks teeth!

Had the best time at The Ice Cream Cone. Annie was very patient and had a sweet smile while we all deliberated over the large selection of flavors. Great ice cream, too!

Great ice cream. Kind, attentive high school age staff. (I started scooping in high school and eventually was the manager of one of the Brigham’s ice cream/sandwich shops so I appreciate the work it takes). Lots of flavors to choose from. Brought back lots of good memories. Went back three times during our stay on Hilton Head.

It’s an experience rather than a real dessert. Walking around the shops is better with ice cream. That being said, it’s not gourmet, is quite pricey, and has ice chunks in it. Staff is friendly and it’s otherwise great.

Not my favorite ice cream experience.

Asked to try a flavor and were told they don’t allow that. Apparently there are signs saying so in the store but we didn’t have time to observe these signs. She did say if I didn’t like it, they’d get me something else. So then that will take up more time too, why not just let me have a sample? There was no one behind us, the store was dead. Just doesn’t make much sense.

The ice cream was grainy and there was freezer burn in it.

If you like creamy ice cream and like to try a flavor before committing to the full scoop like me, might not be the place for you.

This place is everything old school and locally owned and run since 1970. We’ve lived in Hilton Head Island for about a year and never knew this place existed. Met the owner/manager and he told us his story and also told us his wife runs the same kind of store called Frosty’s in Shelter Cove. The ice cream options are immense. Floats, shakes, cones, cups, Sherbert and all the toppings. We went in Oct, kind of off season, and the line was out the door. They are fast, friendly and attentive and lots of hands to help move the lines along. We came upon The Ice Cream Cone simply because we got done dinner early and wanted dessert outside of our restaurant. We will definitely return to get Ice Cream very soon and have plans to bring our grandson when our family visits. Based on our experience we are looking forward to visiting Frosty’s in Shelter Cove. Don’t miss out on the experience of enjoying some great ice cream from a “throw back” ice cream store. Check out the posters also. Pretty cool.

What good is carrying all these flavors, when this places refuses to provide samples? And did I mention the 3.95% credit card fees, if you don't have cash? Plus...it's Hershey brand anyhow. Never going back again, when we have better options in HHI
