Delicious Vegan/allergy-free donuts!!
We have nut, dairy, and egg allergies and have had a hard time finding baked treats on the island, until we found The Purple Cow! I was able to special order donuts that didn’t include any of our allergens, and the owner was even kind enough to purchase a special brand of vegan butter to accommodate a pea protein allergy! We were very impressed with her customer service and the donuts were delicious! Even those of us without allergies enjoyed the donuts! :) Definitely try them out!
Ps. For those who are having trouble figuring out where this donut shop is, it doesn’t currently have a store-front (although the owner did say she’s getting a new storefront in November!), so you can either text your order in if you need vegan/allergy-free donuts (phone number is on their website), or stop by their donut stand at Fat Baby’s pizza on the mornings they are open.

the Maple bacon donuts are fantastic

Absolutely delicious cupcakes and she went above and beyond to make sure they were safe for my sons allergies!

No pre-made donuts… the pictures are deceiving 🙁

Need to update location and business hours . Out of towners cannot find it at all and would love to try

Bernie, the owner, is so kind and accommodating. We are a vegan family, so we were so happy to find a yummy vegan donut menu on vacation. The options are extensive. I’ve attached pictures of the menu, ordering instructions, and pick up location (as of this review 1/25). My son also has severe peanut allergies. She answered all of my questions regarding cross contamination, etc. The donuts are delicious and fluffy! Highly recommend. We’ll be returning customers each time we visit HHI! 😋

These “donuts” are good but they are cake donuts (dense and heavy) NOT yeast donuts (yeast donuts are what your used to light and puffy). This is something you need to know before ordering considering the price. They are very good if cake donuts are what you want.

You do order online and then pick up the next day pay via cash or Venmo.

Christy at the Purple Cow is truly an angel on the ground! She filled a very last minute request for a birthday carrot cake for a friend in Asheville who is feeding and providing water for victims displaced by Helene. A delicious bit of happy in a dark and dismal day and…she would not accept payment. Thanks is not enough.

We love Purple Cow! I look forward to the donuts every year. I would recommend the sprinkle, raspberry, toasted coconut, cinnamon crumb cake and the blueberry muffin.

Bernie created the most beautiful cupcakes and cake for my wedding. To add to the experience she gave us, her baking is so delicious. By far it was the most divine spice cake and salted caramel frosting. 🧁

Google maps still had this as a location to visit, however, we could not find this location.

Bernie was so great to work with and she made the most delicious lemon raspberry dairy free wedding cake for our daughter’s wedding. Highly recommend!
