One of our favorite spots on HHI! We love it for the atmosphere and the food. Plan to spend your whole evening there. There will be a wait, so just plan on it! Grab a drink and some popcorn and just enjoy your night! And make sure to leave some room for ice cream afterwards

After a long day of driving, the meal was delicious … the hush puppies were cooked to perfection and so yummy; the best She Crab soup ever; and the salmon and cole slaw were just what I wanted - so good. The best staff … polite, pleasant, helpful, and such perfect timing. Our server was so fun and responsive to any requests. Can’t wait to go back.

We were very disappointed, we paid nine dollars to enter the neighborhood and park and eat at the salty dog. We brought our two well-behaved well trained dogs. They were very dog unfriendly. Signs everywhere. They had outdoor seating, benches, picnic benches, and we were told we would have to do carry out and take our dogs far away. We never ate there, but we’re disappointed because the website show dog pictures. Do not go here with your dog. Disappointed.

To drive into the place you have to pay a $9 entry fee. When we got there, even though there is a ton of outdoor seating, including rustic picnic tables set away from everything else, they do not allow dogs. Not friendly at all!

Definitely an HHI staple, for obvious reasons. Nestled in the Sea Pines area, it’s a rather exclusive feeling neighborhood for such a touristy type spot, so that was surprising. Other than that, the service was great, the food was alright, not bad but not the best either. The she crab soup was actually really good. The mahi mahi was a little over cooked and under seasoned. Overall, glad we made the trip and got ourselves the staple Salty Dog tee shirts!

Great local place we visit every year. The food is good to drinks are fantastic along with the service. Always super nice people from all over the world waiting on you. Great scenery of the inland Bay.

Parking: Parking in the off-season is a breeze in season. It can be very difficult to find parking lots of parking for such a small area.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of outdoor seating for kids to have fun walking around and playing

Wheelchair accessibility: Very flat surface easy access from the parking lot.

Great food and atmosphere. A bit of a wait. But it was spring break, and had a drink at the outside bar while we waited.

11/2024 off season. Another visit. Great service and food. The shrimp tacos and Big Boss were fantastic

Salty dog that doesn't allow dogs. The menu that says send us pictures of your pup - thats a joke because dogs arent allowed anywhere near the restaurant. The covered seating picture - nope. Oh. And a $9 fee because it's on a private area of the island. We arrived, after paying a $9 fee, to be told dogs were only allowed outside the t-shirt shop about 100 feet down. We went down to the t-shirt shop to see them packing up because it was too cold. It was 71 degrees. The only option was to get food to go and sit at a table being cleared so we extra felt like an inconvenience. How disappointing. Came here hoping for some decent food but mostly some time with our pup and a souvenir dog kerchief but left with just $9 less in our pocket. It was especially surprising because of how many restaurants and experiences on the island allow dogs. Just not the one with "dog" in its name. So disappointing.

Google should allow for a less than 1 star review. Misinformation prevalent on their website. NOT worth the $9 entry fee to the private residential area. NOT pet friendly on outdoor patio in direct contrast to the perception relayed by their website. Unimaginative menu relies on historical status symbol. What used to be unique in the 90s is currently tired. Incredibly disappointing.
