I feel bad about this rating only because our server was so nice. But we waited around 40 minutes as the only customers in this place for lunch salads, and, after finally arriving, my wife's was inedible. Apparently a new chef. Again, the server couldn't have been nicer, and took my wife's salad off the bill, but she seemed to be placed in an impossible situation by the kitchen.

Gave a 5 as overall score cause the noise of the construction was awful. Our stay was 4 days and it went on all day every day we were there. I understand that renovations are a necessity but when I was booking this trip no where on your website did it say there was going to be construction. When we were checking in was the first I heard that there would be construction going on. Hindsight I would have requested a room looking over the parking lot. Then on our last night (Thursday) at 10:00pm they were cleaning the vent hood on the roof of the Buoy Bar with a power washer This was directly in front of our room(478). The one bright spot to our trip was Michael at the Buoy Bar. He is phenomenal! And your $35 resort fee per day...what is that for? We have been coming to this particular resort since it was built and called Mariners Inn. After this stay I will seriously consider staying at another resort in Hilton Head

Very beautiful resort. Natural Landscaping enhanced the pool areas. The Staff was friendly and helpful. The Rooms were updated nicely with upscale decor. The beds were comfy. Lots of on-site activities. The beach access is very easy to find.

Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Downfall is if you want to relax on the balcony or by the pool in the evening, be prepared for obnoxiously loud music. Not relaxing at all. Paying premium prices for an oceanfront room, should come with better amenities.

A very well appointed hotel with plenty of pools, hot tubs and other amenities. The rooms were well maintained with comfortable mattresses. The beach access is very easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. We visited in early October, as such the facility was not very busy.

Positives: •conveniently located oceanfront. •Communal property areas is nice and well appointed. Jackie housekeeper and Maria at front desk were very kind and pleasant. Negatives: •The bright and we’ll decorated lobby is definitely not indicative of the guest rooms which are aging and dingy. •The check in process was ABYSMAL! After working & long drive, arrived exhausted and was checked in and received our key. Found a parking space and dragged luggage up to room…ONLY TO FIND OUT that the room that They gave us was NOT the room that was booked. Calls to front from THREE separate numbers AND Omni customer service dispatch went unanswered for 20 minutes. So we loaded up all of our luggage again and made the track back to the lobby in the car…. Only to be told “oh we sold out of that type of room”. HOW?!?? IF I BOOKED THE ROOM AND MADE A RESERVATION. Are you booking more expensive rooms than you have available. I ended up with a cheaper room and had to advocate to receive the price adjustment. The front desk attendee Maria was extremely kind and understanding; however, the manager Lucy did not introduced herself by name but only “I’m the manager” when she overheard me ask for one. All of this the night before I am schedule to be up bright and early for class at the conference I was in town for. So frustrating and absolutely unnecessary if they just honest accident reservations. As a gold level guest with Omni….No thanks Omni Oceanfront Hilton Head.

Let me first say the staff is amazing! All staff members we interacted with were so friendly and kind and did a fantastic job. However, the buildings are in dire need of a major remodel. The rooms are so outdated and worn. The air ducts throughout the hotel need a good cleaning, you can see the dirt in them and some rooms the air is just not working properly. The lobby is very musty smelling. Hopefully the do a major remodel and fix these issues.

I’ve traveled so much for work. I’ve even stayed in a few hotels that are fancier and even more updated than the Omni. But I’ve never been at a hotel that was so welcoming and kind and caring. Obviously implementing Ritz Carlton practices of remembering names and detail. Very, very clean rooms and lots of nice amenities. Beautiful, open hallways and outdoors. It’s isn’t perfectly appointed because they are steps from the ocean and the physical plant is constantly fighting with winds and salt water. But it is amazing. I was on the 5th floor and the hot water wasn’t delayed or out. Fresh clean towels. Love the floors are not carpeted and clean!! Lots of pillows, everything freak and clean. No “hotel” smell. The food for breakfast/lunch/dinner was great. They kept coffee and soda stocked up. Silver water and plates and cups were clean. Front desk was great! Housekeeping really cared! But the ? of the show is Samar, one of the valets. Kind, helpful, service-oriented, good natured, loves his job, easy going, jack of all trades, gets every need meet immediately without any questions! I hope the Omni recognizes him. He is a gold star in your cap and would not be easy to replace. So don’t do that. After hiring quite a few people, I can say one of my greatest tests for them was to discover if they worked as well when I was not there, as when I was. I can assure you, Samar does.

Tonight, I had the worst possible experience at XO sport Bar at the Omni Hotel in Hilton Head Island, SC. The unimaginable happened and this happened to be my favorite place to dine for a late night dinner everytime I visit Hilton Head, which happened to be approximately 4 times this year alone. My husband and I enjoyed our meal but the unsavory and unpleasant stares from the bartenders this evening was very appalling upon our entry. So, we decided to sit at a table instead and we ordered dinner and I ordered the Moscow Mule as per usual when we dine here. Despite our excitement to visit XO, the bartenders were not friendly at all. The waiters seemed distracted and kind of untrained and unprepared. Nonetheless, we didn't make a stink and we enjoyed our meal. My husband paid for the bill once it arrived, but I wanted an extra drink that wasn't apart of our original bill, so we provided an additional card for the extra drink; however, the waiter cancelled the original cleared transaction and re-charge the entire bill to the extra card provided for the subsequent drink only....which was strange because he never received authorization for this. By the time, we simply signed for the second card, Bank of America alerted my husband that our original cleared transaction was attempted a total of 4 times and now we're on vacation with a locked card. The subsequent card was also processed twice with multiple pending charges. If the waiter simply asked us before swiping/ processing our debit cards multiple times we wouldn't have a total of 6 pending transactions total on between both cards. This is unacceptable from an establishment of this caliber. I am utterly disgusted and it was a very embarrassing evening (drawing attention to our table) because I had to request a manager, who apologized on behalf of the wait staff which was thoughtful. However, were out on vacation with a locked card as a result of 4 pending processed transactions from a very disturbing waiter. This is no longer my favorite restaurant. The female bartenders need to be re-trained on better customer service and for their unprofessionalism, especially the black one that wears her hair down with wavy tresses. The black waiter definitely need to be re-trained again and need to be more forthright when he's made an error to guests. He denied all the erroneous card attempts and learn the POS system in place and learn to communicate effectively with guests dining. The manager was the only person of dignity and decorum and understood where the error occurred and apologized for his incompetent staff and for the inconvenience.Quick Edit: I appreciate the management team at this establishment. The duplicate payments were fully refunded to my card, my husbands 4 transactions are still pending.

The beach and resort is absolutely gorgeous! The rooms are nice and the resort is super clean. The pina coladas are out of this world so creamy and delicious. The sevice is first class so many people went out of their way to make sure our staff was memorable. Marketplace Niki and Romaine; Buoy Bar Tacora was the best, Keisha and and Maria; the guys upfront-Raj, Pedro, so many others to name. A huge thank you you to all that made our trip so special. The beach was unbelievable! So clean and the water/ocean was so calm despite it being the Atlantic Ocean. The sand did not stick to you! The pool was awesome with plenty of beach chairs. The food was pretty good but often times had food at different restaurants not on the resort. Will definitley be back due to the staff/service snd beautiful beach.

This is a wonderful resort for families with small kids. We had a partial ocean view room (2 queen beds) on the 5th floor of the South building. We had a wonderful view of the rolling ocean waves that we enjoyed from our balcony. Our room was very clean and, importantly, the air conditioning kept the room very cold. We put the kitchenette to good use, stocking our mini fridge with beverages, breakfast items, and snacks. The bathroom was very clean but a little cramped, making it hard to maneuver with a little kid. Next time, I would be interested in the one-bedroom suite, as those with little kids need to be aware that if you put your kid to bed early... you have to sneak past their bed in order to access the balcony. Can be a little challenging! While some prior reviews complained about the age and condition of the property, our room had no issues whatsoever. Yes, the halls and elevators are "open air" which can be oppressive during hot/humid days (especially in August!) but I never found any of our private and/or common areas to be dirty, musty, or unkempt. Everything was really lovely. The location of this property is excellent. We especially loved the short walk to the beach, which is pristine. Omni rents chairs and umbrellas for the day ($25 for two chairs and a very sturdy umbrella). There were two pools on property that were appropriate and fun for my four-year old. The pools are in direct sun all day, so bring plenty of sunscreen. In August, the pool water felt like hot tub water on the hottest days. We had no problem getting chairs near the pool anytime we wanted them. Staff at the Buoy Bar were wonderful and there were poolside waiters with cheery attitudes despite working the sweltering heat. Service was outstanding. The Palmetto Market is genius for families with little kids. It had everything from snacks to quick meals, to beverages, to chilled bottles of wine for your room, to sunscreen, to detergent for the FREE washing machines (genius for families!) to just about anything you could need for your stay. It can be hectic traveling with small children, so we opted to stay on property for the majority of our stay, including meals. There was plenty of variety amongst the various menus offered between the bars, restaurants, and the market at a range of prices. We really didn't feel like we had to leave, which actually helped us to settle in and relax. In sum, mom and dad got to eat well, enjoy some beverages poolside, and relax while daughter happily played in two pools and the beach every day. It was a great vacation and we look forward to coming back.

Arrived on Monday. It is about an hour’s drive from Savana airport. Stayed in a room facing the parking lot. Rooms were nice. Hallways and elevators were very hot (no AC). Several pools were on complex. The beach was just past the pools. Beach was pretty nice. Rentals for chairs and umbrellas were very reasonable. The restaurants in Hilton Head were busy and some what expensive.

Amazing!!!! So beautiful!!! Lots of activities to do if tired of pool time. Ping-pong, chess, corn hole/bags game, s’mores around the fire pits in the evening. Of course, we spent most of our time in the awesome pool areas and on the pristine beach. The sand was so soft and clean, no shells washed up on shore. Loved every minute!!!

Wonderful resort! Rooms were clean and comfortable. We stayed in an ocean view but the view was really of the courtyard which was awesome. I really can't imagine there being a bad room view because even the parking lot is quiet at this resort. We only went to the adult pool so the umbrellas and seats with umbrellas were taken quickly so my advice is get there early to reserve an umbrella lounge if you need it. The pools were cool and not crowded at all, even on a Saturday when some of the attendees were day pass users. I love that this hotel is beachfront and had a well maintained boardwalk. We enjoyed the Buoy Bar, adult pool bar, sports bar/restaurant and the marketplace for morning breakfast and coffee. Pool wait staff are hard working and always checking on us. All staff members were polite and eager to help. We had some golfers in our group who enjoyed the Palmetto Dunes courses (Arthur Hills was the best course). I would definitely stay here again.

Our room has moist carpet and smelled musty. The morning after I started losing my voice, second night got worse. We requested a room change and after 1 night I miraculously got my voice back. The rooms need better Hvac with quality dehumidifiers and a vent in bathrooms would help moisture escape. Beds were lumpy and need replacing. For the price they charge these things should be improved.
