The food was good here (Mexican fajitas), but the service was very bad, particularly given that the restaurant was not busy - my server just seemed to be a bit out of it, or was new to the service industry. The manager or head server seemed to recognize this and did check in with me to help when she recognized I did not have a drink with my food. The sweet heat margarita was tasty, but not close to being worth the $15.75 price. Decent bar seating when not crowded with good TV viewing. Might come back and try again, but doubtful
I had a splendid evening out with my family at El Charro Mexican restaurant. El Charro is a brother and sister owned restaurant in Irmo South Carolina. It is located in a shopping center and is right next to the shoe department store; the parking lot is tight but their is a lot of places to part.The restaurant has a large variety menu of classic Mexican food that is at a reasonable price for the quality of food you are receiving. In addition, they offer lunch prices, kids menu, dessert, appetizers, and a cocktail bar. What amazed me the most about El Charro is the variety of fajitas they offer. You can of course get the traditional fajitas but I would definitely recommend trying their other options which include: Charras, Mexican, Texanas, Hawaianas, De Camaron, Mar Y Tierra, De Mar, Vegetarians, and Mixed. All of their fajitas come with beans, tortillas, pinco de galla, rice, and cheese. Tonight I had the Hawaianas fajitas and it was to die for, but I wished there was more pineapple; I loved the spices they cook the food in. The Hawaianas fajitas come with chicken,pineapple, bell pepper, Charo, onions, and cheese. In my opinion the price was reasonable for the large portion we got. The price was $23.75 for two. All of El Charro fajitas range from $14.99 - $26.99. Furthermore, if you eat in you get fresh homemade chips and salsa free with your order. If you like spicy ask for the extra spicy hot sauce they other because it will definitely make you turn red in the face.When walking in you will feel like you transported into Mexico. El Charro has colorful walls, banners, Mexican music playing, and authentic wall decorations that match the atmosphere. In addition the place was spotless with no dirt in sight. The service was very friendly and polite. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly to us. Lastly, if you are hungry and trying to figure out where to go to dinner, I would definitely recommend going to El Charro because I will definitely coming back in the future.

First off I say thank you to the workers!! The restaurant was very clean. Everything about this experience was excellent! The greeting at the door, our server, the menu, the prices, the food, I mean EVERYTHING was excellent. Our food was hot, fresh, and large portions. Most definitely will return. Thanks for a great experience and meal!Parking: Plenty of regular parking spots as well as handicap parking.Kid-friendliness: Have a section in the menu with options for kids.

We used to be avid patrons until today. Not sure what happened to the restaurant we once loved, but our family will no longer support this business. Food was horrible, service was equally horrendous and we spent $70 for 2 adults and a 6 year old for LUNCH.
We found this place on Google while traveling back from the upstate. Definitely above your typical Mexican restaurant. My wife said it was probably the best Mexican food restaurant she's had. Amazing food we had included fajitas for two (enough for three people--get the ones with the chorizo!) and the cheese steak burrito (could feed at least two people). Highly recommend those. Service was excellent. Very clean inside with a nice decor. Highly recommend!Parking: In a strip mall type of lot next to Walmart.

You are always greeted at the door by either the owner "Poppy"or Luis or "Poppy's" charming daughter or any other member of this fabulous restaurant, complementing the warm greeting is an extremely clean restaurant and atmosphere, what more could there be?....authentic delicious Mexican food prepared and served with pride and perfection, and always consistent with taste, robust proportions and freshness. When you are finished experiencing everything this restaurant and staff has to offer you, upon leaving you will be thanked by the staff and/or "Poppy" emphasizing their appreciation to you that you chose their establishment to dine at! By far this is the best Mexican authentic restaurant in the northeast, if not the entire Columbia/Midlands area!
