We stopped in to check out the food and atmosphere. Atmosphere has the “everybody knows your name” kind of feel. Very friendly. Bar tender and wait staff were excellent and very easy to talk to. They have weekly entertainment from Karaoke to DJs to live musicians. Plenty of space for a group of friends or the team after league games. They have pool tables, pinball and Golden Tee video. Their menu offers a great variety with something to please everyone. We ordered the Pepper Jack Bites, Tex Mex egg rolls, wings and a salad. The salad was very good, fresh ingredients and their homemade ranch was great! The flavor of the hot food was excellent. We got the Cajun flavor wings and the rub on them was just right. Overall, we thought this was a great stop.

The waitress who was White didn't come over to serve us at all. The bartender was very nice she brought our drinks over twice after I ordered them at the bar. She also had to go get a cook out the kitchen to be our serve because the waitress wouldn't serve us. I will never go back and surely do not recommend anyone of color to consider this place. I give them a minus zero star!

I was pretty disappointed because a friend recommended this spot to me. I liked that it wasn't overly crowded and staff weren't overly nice but not rude. The drinks kinda sucked and tasted pretty watered down but at least they were cheap. The band was hard to listen to but they seemed like they were having a good time - we stayed for one drink and went to another bar down the road. Not my type of bar, but the locals seemed to love it.

Stopped by to play some pool and grab a beer. I cant figure out who’s slower, the bartender or the waitress Im still waiting!! The pool tables are good but there’s only one pool stick that has a tip, its broken and crooked but at least it has a tip unlike the 20+ in the corner!!! Good news is, beers cold and cheap when you finally get one

I had what I think was called a chicken Philly hoagie. With the crinkle cut fries. It was great! And the crinkle cup fries were all nice and crispy and not soggy. I was by myself, so I sat at the bar. The bartender / waitress was Maura. She was great with the customers and a great waitress. I will be back. 😊

Hemmingways’s is a place that I have frequented in Irmo for a couple of years now. So much so that I’ve developed a great relationship with many of the bartenders, patrons, and one of the owners. However, Darren has yet again caused a very unfortunate experience, to not just myself, but my entire party, that has made Hemmingway’s our Sunday norm after our bowling league.
Despite being ignored while he served patrons who arrived after us, we didn’t complain, express our disdain, or disagreement. However, we were not met with the same level of patience when he finally acknowledged us. Since he’s sees us weekly, we expected to receive a menu, in the same manner he has done every other week. Instead he demanded we speak, or he would go to another guest, and when we asked questions regarding the menu, he proceeded to say “this isn’t you’re first time here, so you either know what you want, or I’m skipping you.” While continuing to audibly sigh, and create a scene about our menu inquiries, despite having not provided us with a SINGLE menu. While we are regulars, the individual who was ordering doesn’t typically order, and doesn’t have the menu memorized even though Darren seems to think we should. Nonetheless, we aren’t hired staff either and aren’t required to have the menu memorized.
He behaved wildly unprofessional, enough so to ensure our entire group will not be returning as patrons to Hemmingway’s. A guest should never be humiliated in general, much less loud enough for other patrons to be laughing at the behavior. Unfortunately this was the last time Darren will get the chance to behave in such a manner with regular customers.
Wow, never been here before I came for karaoke on a Tuesday night. It was lit, we couldn't believe how cheap the tab was, with all the drinks and appetizers, it wasn't even 49 bucks. This is a v we very nice bar. Everyone from different walks of life, but everyone was enjoying each other, striking up conversations with strangers. I love the kj MATT HES THE BEST. Every Sunday a group of us would go to this establishment after bowling and everything would be fine along with the fact we always tip well but for whatever reason the bartender Darren was extremely disrespectful and curse at us because he was “busy” as if it was our fault while we patiently waited in line to place a order. Never coming back again

Litter word of advice I was one of your secret shoppers so a word of advice be nice even if you're having a bad personal day.

As far as service they have some good servers but only one strong server on the floor at a time, which means you have to wait on every little thing because they’ve got a server that is on the floor everyday and drunk, too drunk to help out so expect to be waited on by one singular server for the entire restaurant except for bar.
