Smugglers Island Eats and Rum Shack

Smugglers is the best. I got my staff food from there the other day and it was fresh, tasted great, and really hit the spot. My team agreed 100%. The beer cheese pretzel ie a definite win. Crinkle cut fries are fresh. Bartender and owner were courteous and I will definitely be back to cater lunch for my team soon 👊 💯

This is a great place to relax and enjoy drinks at the outside bar, and simultaneously being able to bring your family in for a meal.

I had the smash burger, my wife had the shrimp basket, and my daughter destroyed a basket of fries. The food was great and the price point was more than fair considering the location (Isle of Palms).

The bartender was friendly and let us know to order at the bar when ready. She was attentive and detail oriented.

When leaving the cool dude with dreads gave my daughter a sticker and a pink plastic palm tree which she carried around using it as a magic wand for the remainder of our stay at IOP.

The staff treated my kid like gold and for that me and mine will only be eating at Smugglers when we do our beach trips. Thank you for being real ones 🤙🏻

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to shout out the amazing experience me and my family had at Smugglers today! The vibe was great, music on point, and the bartender Zoe made our day!!! Super friendly, remembered our drinks after just one round, made us feel like her only customers while handling an entire bar full of people and made some killer recommendations. You can tell she actually cares about what she's doing and not just slingin' drinks around. This kind of service makes all the difference and rare to find anymore!!!!! Definitely coming back because of Zoe and the yummy food! HIGHLY recommend the swimming shrimp.

We love this place. Me and my wife had the smashburgers and they are amazing. My daughter had the chicken tenders and loved them. Been there twice and both times the service was great.

The food here is basic bar food so it’s not super special but we liked it and it came out fast. I liked the environment of a small local bar but the service was not great. It was raining when we got there so everyone came inside and the bar tender was frazzled. it almost seemed like she was upset that they were busy. Multiple times she told people in my group she was “too busy” to fill the waters up and to just get it from the cooler. (I don’t mind getting the water from a cooler just the way she worded it made it seem like we were inconveniencing her that we were there) I think they need to find a new way or ordering or have more people taking orders. I have been to places with QR codes on the table where you order and pay so the order goes straight to the kitchen. I have worked several waitressing jobs so I get feeling stressed in a rush but your job is literally serving people so acting like it’s an inconvenience is frustrating and inappropriate.

Awesome spot on the street for a cocktail and a bite to eat. Don’t be in a rush, as they do lots of To Go orders being right near the beach on the ground floor and it’s a small kitchen.

Closed when they said they were open. Rats.

Came from beach and wanted a quick bite. This place was perfect. I sat at their open air bar and bought a shrimp basket. It was delicious 😋
