Food was good. Have eaten all 3 meals at some point in time. A table of 12 was very loud and conversation at our table was virtually impossible
We've had good experiences here in the past, and the food was good this time, but the service was so bad that it really ruined the whole experience. Our waiter took our order and then we didn't see him again until I finally had to leave the table to track him down when we were 2/3 of the way through our meals to get some refills on coffee - and he seemed annoyed I was coming to find him (but I assure you he wasn't nearly as annoyed as we were). He still made multiple visits to other tables before we finally got more coffee; we had other things we needed too, but by the time he finally showed up, the meal was basically over so I didn't even bother to ask. This on top of the fact that he was asked for plastic cup for our 4 year old's water that he never brought, and then brought her juice in a glass as well. When we ordered there were only a couple of other occupied tables in the place, so it's not like he was running wild. He just seemed to have no interest in doing more than the bare minimum to get through the service. It was a miserable meal.
Made reservations a couple weeks in advance and got a corner table up against a door and sat besides table with 2 small children when plenty of tables available. Did not get server for 10 minutes to acknowledge us. Then server was not on it and not available for second drink and had to flag someone else down. Very disappointed for my birthday dinner my husband. Will it be making the extra trip from MP to come back. Food was marginal at best.
First time going and we enjoyed our meals. Server was friendly and personable. We would go back again in the future.
Excellent restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. If it's a good meal you're looking for, this beats most of the oceanfront restaurants
We had the tomato soup - very delicious and the grilled cheese sandwich- that was just ok... the salad was excellent- service was great!
Amazing food and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us when we had two extra people show up to our dinner than we were expecting. This has become one of our favorite places.
We had 6 children and 6 adults and the service was exceptional. Food was great and priced reasonably with many choices.
The food was delicious as usual and our server, Morgan, was fantastic. Highly recommend the Fisherman's Platter.
Menu selection is wonderful and the food was really good. Our party had 3 different selections: the scallops for me, Trigger Fish for one of my grandsons and the other 2 both had the chicken pesto tortillenis (sp?)........all of us enjoyed our selections. Service was excellent. Our 6:30 reservation was perfect for three growing grandsons.

We had a party of 7, they had great service and great food. Highly recommend
Nice place to grab a quick bite right down the road from the Beach. Menu options were outstanding and appetizers were delicious . I highly recommend before settling down on the beach for some good Seafood .
The Refuge has quickly become one of our absolute favorite restaurants in the Lowcountry—and for good reason. We dine here frequently and without fail, the service, cuisine, and ambiance are consistently exceptional. It's rare to find a spot that gets it right every single time, but The Refuge does just that.
Last night’s experience, however, stood out even more than usual thanks to our incredible server, Travis. From the moment we sat down, he provided service that was above and beyond. He was warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. His timing was perfect, and he made sure every detail of our dining experience was flawless—anticipating our needs before we even had to ask.
It’s service like this, paired with consistently delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, that keeps us coming back time and again. Phil and Dena
Carbonara was excellent! We were not a huge fan of the shrimp and grits.
Super cute, clean, modern restaurant. Great service & food. Espresso martini was delicious! We ordered the She Crab Soup, fresh Lobster, crab cake (HUGE), and grilled shrimp (my son said it was his favorite he's ever had), Tuna TarTar with crispy wontons.. only complaint was the wontons were not crispy- more chewy, so we just ate the tuna without.
