We had a party of 7, they had great service and great food. Highly recommend
Nice place to grab a quick bite right down the road from the Beach. Menu options were outstanding and appetizers were delicious . I highly recommend before settling down on the beach for some good Seafood .
The Refuge has quickly become one of our absolute favorite restaurants in the Lowcountry—and for good reason. We dine here frequently and without fail, the service, cuisine, and ambiance are consistently exceptional. It's rare to find a spot that gets it right every single time, but The Refuge does just that.
Last night’s experience, however, stood out even more than usual thanks to our incredible server, Travis. From the moment we sat down, he provided service that was above and beyond. He was warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. His timing was perfect, and he made sure every detail of our dining experience was flawless—anticipating our needs before we even had to ask.
It’s service like this, paired with consistently delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, that keeps us coming back time and again. Phil and Dena
Carbonara was excellent! We were not a huge fan of the shrimp and grits.
Super cute, clean, modern restaurant. Great service & food. Espresso martini was delicious! We ordered the She Crab Soup, fresh Lobster, crab cake (HUGE), and grilled shrimp (my son said it was his favorite he's ever had), Tuna TarTar with crispy wontons.. only complaint was the wontons were not crispy- more chewy, so we just ate the tuna without.
Very quaint, cute environment! Excellent service and food is delicious. From the crab cake sandwich to the chicken and pancakes, and even mixed berry pancakes, everything was great! Highly recommend 10/10!
Definitely a great eatery… comfortable clean and inviting… EZ parking too
Wow! What a lovely dining experience. Chose this location for our anniversary dinner, and glad we did. The service was outstanding, and the food was incredible.
Chicken tortellini, shrimp and grits, homemade carrot cake! Every bite was a masterpiece! Yum! Definitely go back next time we're in IOP!
Waitress was so sweet and helpful. The food was divine! Order The Amelia!
The owner is a 49ers fan, so how could it be anything but spectacular!!! Quaint spot with great food, drinks, and service. Felt inviting. Will be a good to spot every visit fir me and my family!

We celebrated my Mom’s 80th birthday here and couldn’t have been happier. The friendliness of the staff and the food were out of this world. We were still talking about the delicious pasta the next day. Highly recommend!!! Cannot wait to go back!
Very nicely decorated. Great service. Easy parking.
Great 😃👍 breakfast 🍳 place!!
The service was slow and the food was overpriced. I asked for mayonnaise on my burger and was uncharged 50 cents. They also add a charge if you pay with a credit card. We won't be back.
Excellent dinner with a variety of options and specials. A little pricey for the portion size. We had the pasta special, with homemade pasta and fish. Nice ambiance.
