The worst food I’ve ever had. The ‘chicken and dumplings’ were inedible. The dumplings were gummy, the veggies were completely raw and the broth looked like milk. No seasoning at all. Won’t be going back… don’t waste your money.
This is an amazing restaurant! The atmosphere and service is top notch and the chef is amazing. We had the pimento chitin start followed by the fried chicken with cheese Mac and collard greens and finished it off with banana pudding. Simple dishes but to prepare them correctly takes great talent, to prepare them the way they did takes great talent. My compliments to the chef!!!
We hadn’t visited for a while. It used to be better. Three of us ordered a “red snapper” special. One was burnt. Two were undercooked. We also weren’t sure that it was snapper. It was grey and mushy. It was also loud as hell. Hard to even carry on a conversation. Parking was a nightmare. I don’t think that we will be back.
Parking: Small lot. Tight spots. Lots of huge pick up trucks.

We showed up 2 hours before closing, ready to spend money. The girl working said it was dead so she closed her till. What kind of business is that? If that’s your policy it should be listed on your website. And it is a SATURDAY night. We were a big group. At least $350 would’ve been spent. That money is going somewhere else.

Took 20 mins to get someone to take our drink order, literally had to ask. Finally got a drink and appetizer and waited another hour for lettuce wraps and a burnt grilled cheese. Fries were cold, was never asked can I get you another drink? I asked for ranch and it was never brought. I’ve been here before and it was great but that was yrs ago so maybe new management or something but I won’t ever go back. There were so many people looking around hoping for service… yeah no. Too many good plain Charleston.

Found this restaurant while driving and so glad we stopped! Amazing food and service. The fried shrimp and fried chicken was just what we were craving! We were so full with dinner but could not resist the beignets with chocolate sauce that we took out. We did not have reservation so had to sit outside which was pleasant in the daylight. But was a bit dark once the sun sets till the security flood lights came up. Would be nice to invest in some outdoor lighting :) Some parking at the back but can a bit tight for large pickup trucks. There is also a speakeasy bar at the back.

Nice little place, food was decent. I had the fried fish sandwich, that day was flounder. The fish was fried a little too long but it was a nice cut and my buns were burnt just a touch. my side was Parmesan fries which are really good my wife had the fried green tomatoe BLT. The bread was also toasted a little to long giving every bite of the sandwich a little bit of that burnt toast taste a . Of course I still finished mine an hers so couldn't be that bad

Well I was hopeful. For $100 it wasn’t worth it to us. My burger was raw in the middle and the shrimp and grits were just ok because by the time we got our order to go and back home with everything it was cold, and we’re down the road a few miles. Other parties arriving when we did and after were served before we got our to go order. We chose a to go because it was too cold to sit outside as we had a dog. Fried pickles and the brews in a can were the best thing we got. Can’t honestly review the atmosphere because we were the only ones outside. Service is a 1 because she took care of other parties who arrived after we did. Disappointing.

Try the FGT/BLT and the chicken tortilla soup it's awesome! Atmosphere is pleasant with nice music. Great service! Reasonable pricing. One of Charleston's finds.

Overall, it was a nice place to eat. Service was a bit slow, but they were busy. I had the fried chicken it could use a bit more flavor. The sides and desserts were delicious. Super cute place.
