The place is a hot mess. Their stuff is everywhere and it just gives off a messy, unclean vibe. They have meat and produce just sitting out and it’s gross. You can barely sit at the bar or half the tables because they have cookware, supplies, and inventory scattered everywhere. At the same time they have empty shelf space everywhere where all their stuff could go. The owner clearly doesn’t care because other reviews raise issues like this. It’s a bummer because the owner is opening a new spot called Heyday. John’s Island could use a solid operator, but this guy clearly doesn’t care. I’ve seen him there and he just lets it go.

Got a large vanilla Latte and wow! It was one of the best I have had!
Fantastic lattes, our barista was very quick and did a great job. a bit pricy but what small coffee shop isn’t nowadays. We had decaf lavender vanilla lattes.

I have repeatedly received poor service at the JI location due to staff not listening to modifications, getting the wrong order, etc. and the staff feels very unreceptive to my modifications, even something as simple drink syrup preferences. I asked for no hot honey on a sandwich and received an excessive amount that pooled on my plate, and in this same order, I asked for my latte to go and instead it was in a mug. The syrup was also not mixed into the espresso and was instead in a pool at the bottom of my cup. I love IP and have been a regular at the downtown location forever but my experiences at the downtown location vs this one is like night and day, which is unfortunate since I live and work around JI now and would love to be a regular, but don’t enjoy this location enough to become one.

I've never had anything I didn't love here! I'm in several times a week, sometimes twice in a day, and there has not been a bad visit, drink, pastry, or sandwich. Amazing local goods are stocked that make it easy to support other businesses and get a delicious meal on the same trip. The staff are always happy to help customers even when there's a ( well deserved) line out the door, and the customer service is fantastic every time. Alyssa makes the best Chai lattes, and their house syrups are delicious! Out of hundreds of visits there has only been one minor mix up that I experienced and they are always handled promptly and professionally! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would, definitely the only coffee shop in Charleston for me!

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, it was great! Lox bagel and house drip coffee hit the spot. Cute place to hang out with grab and go options as well.

The strawberry matcha was great, but the breakfast sandwich was insanely good. It was decorated cute and the staff were friendly, I highly recommend.
Food was delicious! Had breakfast at the cafe and took premade sandwiches and salads to the beach. The chicken salad croissant and Mexican corn salad was divine. I even liked the beet salad my sister bought!! Coffee was also very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning!

Was a regular, but not so sure anymore...apparently the new staff want to give you coffee that was either someone elses wrong order or returned. Ordered a small medium roast house blend and girl trys go give me a coffee that was sitting on the counter where people return their dishes. Hadnt even finished ordering. Asked them to not give me coffee thats been sitting. Girl admitted it was poured and placed their two minutes prior. I wasnt even in the store two minutes so clearly shows someone elses coffee order. Then I was harrasesd by a girl in line behind me calling me rude because I decided to cancel my order how would she like it if they decided to give a random coffee you didnt order that was sitting out before you entered. By the way...this cup was a to go order...and they just assumed I didnt want it in a dine in mug. My order was for here.
