Absolutely LOVE this place. A wonderful refreshing break from the standard fare you can find at most other Mexican places.
Shout out to Emma, Hannah and Connor at the bar for always being so friendly and attentive, although all of the staff provides stellar service. The managers are always around checking that things are running smoothly.
The food is always a 10/10 for me, have yet to have a bad experience. Can't beat the burritos! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about all their dishes, and are able to make suggestions for dietary/allergy issues.
And the large spacious back patio is a great atmosphere for any season!
If you're looking for a different but special experience, don't skip out on this one!

If I could give a -1 I would ! 1st of all the staff is NOT friendly at all and they hate everyone that comes in that establishment !The food is gross and SO way overpriced AND the worst part is the margaritas are all ice no drink and they are making a killing on the prices of drinks ! If you want to spend sooooooo much for nothing at all this is your place !

Food is ok but service is a joke. Sat down at 6:40pm and hadn’t gotten food by 8pm. And then it was cold… wow. Save your family and go somewhere else.

Tacos were totally cold when they came out, not just for me but several of us and the service was so sweet but not very attentive, they never asked how the food was, otherwise I would have said something.

Absolutely love the staff and the food. Wings are top notch, tacos are the best part, pastor, beef and chicken are my go to. Morgan, Karen ,Sara and Emma always make my experience amazing. I will keep coming by when in town. Don't forget the massive burritos, crafted cocktails and frozen seasonal options. 5 stars every time

REALLY liked Minero. After chatting with a couple at the bar, they said it used to be Fat Hen. (I knew there was something familiar about the place when I pulled in.) Fat Hen is missed and was an excellent restaurant from several years back, closed when the owner's retired.
Minero owner's have expanded the footprint of the original building. You'll find a main dining room, double-sided bar that accommodates the main dining room and the closed in, porch-style dining area, which is where I parked myself. TV with sports on are in the porch area. There is also a vast outside dining area. It is perfect for Charleston's fall weather, but looks well shaded for summertime. Freshly made scratch margaritas await you AND they have a Tequila List -- gotta love that -- yall know me, I know I do.
I started with a shot of Don Julio Blanco and a Corona Light. My appetizer was this terrific Salsa Tasting w/ chips. I kept it pretty simple and got Steak Tacos w/ refried beans and could not resist a lovely chorizo dip. As usual, I started eating before taking a photo, but my entre' does show one taco and the refried beans.
Whether you are visiting or a resident, put Minero on your list of restaurants at which to dine....and dine often!

Over Priced and Over Microwaved. Non- Authentic Food. Local Untrained Line Cooks. Children For Staff, Very Unprofessional. They Did Have Open Park Spots, and many Available opinions for Seating.

Beautiful establishment, but very disappointing experience.
We spent over $80 on food and drinks for two, and unfortunately, everything tasted dry, as if it had been microwaved. The guacamole was delicious, but sadly, it was the only thing that felt fresh on our plates.
Beer draft glass was wayyyyy smaller than a pint glass.
Our server started off friendly but later made a sarcastic comment about my boyfriend not liking sour cream, which we overheard her loudly share at the bar with another customer or coworker. After that, the rest of the evening felt uncomfortable, as several teenage staff members kept laughing and looking over at our table.
I genuinely hope the owner takes a closer look at the Wednesday night staff, as this behavior does not reflect well on such a beautiful restaurant.
Price point DOES NOT match the service and food quality.
Needless to sat, we won’t be returning.

Great lunch stop on John's Island. Wish the Tacos El Pastor used pork from a spit instead of pork that was more like brisket burnt ends.

Sarah is the best! Give her a raise. My wife and I love being seated in her area!!! Great to talk with also!
BTW, bring the breakfast burrito back!! It’s what got us hooked on the place. Oh, add bacon to it to please!
